ShortRound Games established by former Black Rock staffers

ShortRound Games is the latest studio to pop up from the discarded talent at Split/Second developer Black Rock Studios. GI.biz reports the team consists of game director Andrew Hubbard, technical director Kim Burrows, technical art director Stuart Pharoah and creative and art director Steve Uphill.
The studio currently has two demos in production and expects to reveal some footage in the coming weeks. Hubbard says they are currently in talks with various publishers and are "keen" to work on iPad or Sony's Vita.
The official announcement of ShortRound's formation comes a few weeks after two of Black Rock's heavies formed RoundCube Entertainment. That studio was created by Split/Second game director Nick Baynes and senior producer Ian Monaghan.

Hope we see another game like Split/Second. It felt like I was in control of an action movie.

I'll support any studio by default that comes out of Black Rock until they disappoint. Not a mobile gamer at all so sucks I'll probably miss out their games (and won't be able to support them financially) but you gotta go where ya gotta go in terms of platforms nowadays, especially for brand new devs. Gotta make some moolah right off the bat so you can stay open, grow, and eventually make higher budget titles.
Best of luck to 'em!

This is my favorite video game company named after an Asian character from The Temple of Doom.

I agree. While rubberbanding may make for a more *exciting* race, it removes the motivation to actually compete. If I can outrace the competition for five straight minutes - nearly lapping them all, as near as I can tell - only to bump on a corner and have 2nd place blaze past me...I've no motivation to drive well enough to get that far ahead.
It's artificial, it's annoying, it's unfair, and it's the cancer that's killing arcade racers (and some pseudo-sims).
Played Burnout Revenge recently (finally), and that really pisses me off. Violence-based modes? Great, that gametype doesn't work *without* rubberbanding.
Race modes? GTFO.
