It looks awfully similar to Bejewled 2.

@Raffi256 It's actually quite different. I bought it for my mom thinking it would be the same-old same-old... but she pointed out to me how much they've changed it. I played it myself later and I agree... this one is much more fun. They have multiple modes of play that are all pretty different from each other.

Do they all require matching jewels? Yes, but that's the genius... the method is always the same, the goal changes.

And yet strangely, this isn't available for iOS. I would have guessed that's a much more important market than consoles.

When do you play Bejeweled? When you're sitting on a couch for a long session, or when you're waiting in your doctor's office?

@diamondsw

It is on Homebrew. My way of getting the fix on the move.
Which just so happens, to be any 5 min gap I have in my day.

Definately not the type of game I would play over and over on the PS3/XBOX.

@diamondsw This is what I've been saying since the iPad 1 first came out.

Release a Bejeweled for the iPad and you're just PRINTING money. If it's Bejeweled 3, even more-so. Bejeweled 3 for the iPhone/iPad and one for android should be their top priority. Cellphones are where Bejeweled got big, it's where it remains big.

Do Ett!

I can't understand how people play games like this on home consoles.

You have so much opportunity to get your fox with these games on mobile devices when waiting in line, waiting for a bus etc.

Don't you people just want to focus on console only type experiences when on a console (and even if you say you sometimes only have time for a quick type of game on a console, there are tons of console only downloadable games that are good for a quick session).

Compared to Bejeweled 2 - Bejeweled 3 is CRAP! It is a BIG CHRISTMAS SALES RIP OFF! I am somewhat the biggest Bejeweled fan out there, the positive upbeat music, the futuristic planet space design in the back ground, the beautiful gems..aah~..AND WHAT DID THOSE IDIOT-MORON-GAMEDESIGNERS had to do??? They turned one of the most beautiful game sin the world INTO A NIGHTMARE! (THEY SHOULD BE INSTANTLY FIRED!)The gems now look like cheap fashion plastic-jewelery (did they REALLY advertise that they look even more brilliant?HAH~..what a LIE!I expected brilliance, water clear gems that sparkle even with more depth and subtlety, and what are they now like? milky plastic stones, burning.uuuh..maybe my 8 year old will like the flames, but for everybody above it's simply ugly, especially if you played BJ2, no pun intended), the music reminds me of a cheap facebook wargames-oofta-oofta..tataah..and some drums in the backgound.ARE YOU MAD???where is the skaven soundtrack? where is the upbeat beautiful sounds?5 minutes into the demo the music was even making my gf get annoyed, she said that it's *hard on the ears and annoying*. GAWD I am SO dissappoined!!!They really turned a beautiful pastime game into a wargame for 12 year olds, even the backgrounds are now so crappy and eerie and dark that I wouldn't want to go there visit, not even with a gun and torch in hands. Eerie trees, dark sad hounted (but not in a good way) swamplands that look like a fire just burnt everything is what you get now. Only upside - more modes. But what good are more modes if you want to turn off the music and the game looks cheap and makes you think of what's on TV? And what's with those eerie moments in the new modes? a butterfly shaking in fear of death when it comes near the spider? Is that you being creative? Are you braindead or something? My heartfelt condolences to a beautiful game. My advice - Play Bejeweled 2 for 10 minutes, then immediately try the demo version available on Popcap.com, and you will see that they in no way improved the game but simply simply copied BJ2 and turned it into shit. All we can do now is wait for BJ4 ..and pray to the heavens that they WAKE UP and do better!
Since a good bashing is even better with telling how it could have been better-here I go:
1) cut the war music crap, this is NOT a war game, and if, PLEASE try to spend more than 2.75$ on the soundtrack. There are people that played BJ2 out there 50% because of it's fantastic soundtrack, and all of them will NOT buy it even if it's free. The last score was from a group called skaven (youtube); get in touch with them and even if they don't do new, then get old tracks from them; nobody has heard them (mainstream) and they would be perfect for Bejeweled 4!
2) What's it with those creepy backgrounds? make them as nice as in BJ2 - places that make people want to go there, not thinking "what a dump", this must be the dark forests where werevolves are ripping people to shreds - MAKE THEM UPBEAT AND NICE!BJ2 was already supplying the direction..SO TAKE THE HINT!
3) Improve the quality of the gems. Make them more clear. Ever been to a department store? Passing the jewelery section? seen how they highlight their gems? you go there and take notes, THAT is what they should look like. Not like plastic, geez, they look even worse than in BJ2!
4) More modes?OK..but increasing the difficulty by making more 3-gems matches..again and again? Is creativity something you hate? Gee..you should maybe actually play the game and get to know what people really want! The want for instance to be able to keep the 5gems all color stone for a better opportunity-make an extra bay so I can use them, maybe max.3 later in the game, make a level 3-D, make a level with a bigger board and MORE gems with different colors! dark green, turquoise, pink..there are more colorgems out there..not all game long, but inbetween, to freshen things up...and so on..geez..I think about it and more and more ideas come to mind..and seeing what you did to the game with the possibilities you have, I just want to stick everybody responsible for it in a big bag and beat the hell out of all of them with a stick. ..so all of them could be more motivated to do BETTER!
AH~..so save your money, if you like Bejeweled..buy no2, it's still the best around.
Wishing you great gaming, BJ4
