When The Boy Who Lived makes his big return to Hogwarts for the finale of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, he'll be doing it without the aid of motion peripherals on the Xbox 360. EA producer Gary Napper confirmed to Joystiq that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 won't have any Kinect functionality (unlike its predecessor), as the development team at EA Bright Light made a decision "early on to focus on the core of the experience, get as close to the atmosphere of the movie and make the flow of the combat feel right."
The first Deathly Hallows game arrived last November to negative reviews. The sequel will touch down on July 12, just three days before the final movie launches in US theaters. Unfortunately, its short development time -- it's been approximately eight months since the first game launched -- raises questions about how much the sequel can really improve beyond Potter's previous outing.
According to Napper, "We didn't want to dilute any of our efforts on other things that would require a lot of the team's time to perfect." We were told that EA Bright Light currently has two unannounced projects in development.

i own Order of the Phoenix, it was ok, never finished it though got about 1/3 through it before got boring of endlessly trying to find different characters to recruit. The castle however was very well designed and had majority of the things that happened in the movie incorporated into the game. I own Lego Harry Potter 1-4 as well, now that is a fun game, I love Legos ;)

This looks identical to Part I so more than likely this will not be good.

I doubt taking Kinect function away will lessen the suckiness, it will just help them push this pile of poop out faster.

Lego Harry Potter will be good enough for me :)

Sickens me how many idiots rushed out to buy a Kinect, when it was clear months before it was released what a load of crap it was. And now look, game having Kinect non-functionality removed from them!
Might be a good idea in theory, but it has been executed atrociously AND with all their attentioned turned towards it, they let most of the 360s exclusives become multiplatform and PS3 has taken the lead.

It's fun when people think they know when they're talking about.. especially when every part of their comment is 100% incorrect.

8 months to make a game is really not much time at all. It sucks that the quality of the game will (most likely) suffer because of that. At least they're taking their time with Lego Harry Potter. I really liked the first one they came out with and I'll be picking up the second one as well.

I'm betting Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1&2 were created at the same time to save developer costs.
Both games are identical. (AKA Third Person Wand Waving) The only difference is one has Kinect Functionality and one does not.
They probably spent the last 8 months touching up the graphics of the game and thinking up things to say when the press interviewed them.
Also since when did Ginny fight Voldermort come on EA at least stay true to the book..

Kinect is a piece of shit and doesn't belong in existence, but this game would be good with Move.
