@Mr Esc is the namesarcasm is my
While hats, in my opinion, are the pinnacle of anything ever invented in the world, they're purely aesthetic and do nothing but either shield your eyes from the sun or just look pretty. In this case, they're damn good, but you can't make a valid argument against TF2 using hats as backup. While weapons change up the game, you don't have to have them all nor do you have to use them. It's all about preferences.

If you don't like it, then don't play it and let the rest of the world enjoy it, because it's a damn good game I'll never put down.

I'm in no way going to let this put me off TF2 .... still never going to use their store .....

But it does make me look forward to Tribes Ascend that much more.

Now that it's free, there's nothing holding us from LAN TF2 tournaments!

Would be nice if those of us who have been around since the beta got some cool freebies in the form of exclusive hats...

The only reason why I'm against free TF2 is because Counter-Strike Source still costs money and it's older.

It's a small complaint and in hindsight it's not that big of a deal.

@Chichok

Well CS doesn't have a store where you can buy turbans for 10 bucks. How would they make their monies?

Probably too busy working on Counterstrike 3 to really think about it. You'll get 'yer deal when that gets announced.

Don't you mean CounterStrike 2? CS:S was a port, not a sequel. There are no actual sequels to CounterStrike, only spinoffs.

I see a bunch of complaining of oh no TF2 is F2P. After all the $5 and $2.50 sales, Valve was already giving the game away. As for pay for power, I don't know if you have noticed but TF2 has had the Mann Co. shop where you can buy all the weapons.

So it's official. TF2 is an MMO. Next they'll be telling us Nexon is developing HL3

@AOTTYO
F2P ≠ MMO

TF2 is nothing as sinister as free to play MMOs, where you have to pay to get higher grade equipment or to play longer (Spiral Knights, I hate you but love your TF2 hat). It's still the same game it was a week ago, regardless of price.

@ColorblindMonk

And a week ago it was still a hat simulator with a shooter draped over it.

See? Free is never cheap enough. Give the public one concession and next thing that's the new standard they're entitled to.
