Brink's 'Agents of Change' DLC expected in early July, will be free for first two weeks
27
Splash Damage has announced on its blog that Brink's "Agents of Change" DLC pack, which includes two maps, five new player abilities, two outfits and two weapon attachments, is expected to arrive in early July. In addition to the launch window, Splash Damage also revealed the DLC will be free for its first two weeks of availability -- be sure to check out our previous post highlighting what's on offer.
Following the DLC is a new title update, which Splash Damage says will be "highlighted by online optimizations, AI enhancements, and weapon balance tweaks" based on player feedback. No other details were provided, though we did nab some screenshots of Agents of Change in action.

this is probably going to be the only dlc release for this game since the community is dying quick.

Wait wait wait... they said it would be free, we all assumed they meant FREE free... not free until we decide to charge you for it...
Thanks Bethesda, you really show how much you enjoy making people pay for more beta testing.

I was thinking the same thing, but they have updated the announcement on the bethesda blog:
Update 6/24: To be clear, as long as you download Agents of Change during the first two weeks it’s available, you’ll always be able to play for free. It’s only after the first two weeks that folks will have to purchase the content on Xbox LIVE, PSN, or Steam. Hope that clears up any confusion.

I haven't even fired this game up since about a week after launch. I assume its still as terrible as it was then?

It's funny, I'm usually the first to say people are being to negative about a game.
Unfortunately, this time, it's well worth the slamming it's copping.
Rushed, poorly designed, and broken. Sounds like Daikatana?

Didn't they say this DLC would be released in June? Now it's July?

They wait until June is done then the best they can say is early July? That is effed up.
Why not just have it be free forever? It's not like people are going to buy it two weeks after release, the game is pretty dead already.

As someone who bought the game and actually liked it... this is a stupid move. (Gosh I sure am saying that a lot lately when devs announce certain decisions. Stop it.) Hearing FREE DLC had some people perk their ears in interest. It sounded like a nice treat. People that like the game would have more of a reason to keep playing. People that don't like it so much well... there would have been something to go back to should they give it another chance. Now there truly isn't. Don't say free on DLC that's coming out way later after its release and then charge. If you want to jump the boat with DLC like EA fine go ahead, but do it right because right now they're doing it better than you.
Leave this DLC free forever. Do you really want to risk the game dwindling again 2 weeks later because you want a quick buck? Make another one and this time right off the bat say you want to charge for it. It's either free or it's not. Going back on your word leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Free. Yeah okay... just like, "Hey guys its coming out early June" now its early July.

I like this game. Yes, it's not perfect, but I do have fun playing it and it is a fresh change. I like the focus on teamwork.
I wonder if the people trashing on the easy opponent AI have even leveled a character to 20 because enemy AI scales with your level. However friendly AI are sorely stupid.
Another negative is that the defensive team has a big advantage as the choke points are many. It's too bad I've never found an online versus game that has more than 2 or 3 human players in it cause I'd like to see how much different the gameplay would be then.
They could also mention the map title in their chapter levels. And allow you to track on what difficulty you've beat each map. And I signed up for the stats tracking http://xbox.brinkthegame.com/ but it's not tracking my games so that's pretty lame.

In my game retailer they are overstocked on pre-owned brinks! They also are selling them now for £25 (about $30) I thinks that pretty amazing considering they still sell copies of DA2 full price.

Fix co-op and fix the game and I'll think about buying your "free for a while even though we said it will be completely free" DLC.

Not a bad arcade game. Wait this was $60? How they get away with that?

Team Deathmatch would've made it better too IMO... Lack of variety, terrible lag, terrible co-op. I really wanted to like this.

This just goes to show, you cannot release a competitive FPS and expect to tweak and fix it later. If your core game is not strong enough, the competitive FPS market has tons of other options that are already well-balanced, polished, and fun. The most critical thing you must do is create an install base, and Bethesda has utterly failed to maintain theirs. They could release a mode that included zombie unicorns and, at this point, the game still wouldn't revive.
