hmm, between all the promotions worldwide, MS seems to be liquidating those 4GB units and bundles. You would think they were trying to dry up the supply chain so they could put out some serious holiday bundles with big time price cuts. Maybe they'll introduce something north of 250GB.

Gears of War 3 bundle, bro. 320 GB drive.
This would give you all the space needed to never buy any of their music videos or movie rentals.

I really would jump on this if the additional HDD wasn't so insanely expensive. Buying that would completely undo the savings here.
Sure, I can hook up two 16 GB flash drives, but considering the size of most add-ons and XBLA games at this point I'm not even sure how far that will really go.

@Softserve with this deal you'd save roughly $20 if you used the credit for the hard drive.

i'm sorry but is it just me who does * NOT * see this as a deal... a 4gig HDD is pretty sad. Isn't the bigger HDD like 100+ dollars?

Yeah, but if you just use the system for normal everyday stuff like watching Netflix and DVDs and playing the occasional game (you can suppliment the small HDD with flash drives) you probably won't run out of space. It's not really aimed at power-users so much as Jane-Soccer-Mom. It is a good deal if you're in the market for a second Xbox though.

I bought this last week and it still hasn't shipped :(
For the record, 4gb should be fine for the hard drive. The Slim lets you use thumb drives as external memory, and those are way cheaper than actually buying the 250 GB HDD.

@chocobox I have one of the old style Xboxes and it has HDMI, I'm not clear which ones are lacking it. I would bet that any of the slims all have HDMI.

can you upgrade the HDD? or do you have to stay with 4GB and usb HDD's?
Posted: Jun 27th 2011 3:17PM Fire Walk With Me said
@ChiTownRuler23 you can upgrade it. It comes with a HDD much smaller than the last one that fits interanlly instead of on the side. Its at $80 so its a bit cheaper than the last one as well. The 250GB by its lonesome.

I think it says it is already over. I am jumping in with this Kinect crap this weekend, it doesn't hurt that the next Xbox is sure to support it heavily.
