Might not hurt to include a release date and price in these reviews. I did some digging and it's 800 space bucks, coming out tomorrow.

Played the original Half-Minute Hero and loved it. One of the best and most addicting games I've ever played on the PSP. Glad to see the game on Xbox Live Arcade.

Hahahahaha, that was pretty funny.

Anyway, I've been really looking forward to this. It was definitely on my "must-buy games" list for when I finally get a PSP, but this makes things a lot easier.

I think I might get this, I really enjoyed the PSP original, but the lack of the true Knight/Evil Lord/Princess 30 modes is sad.

... Nice attempt at a 30 second review! I'm sold, haha. Also-

"If you're not done shotgunning RPGs like frat party beers, there's also a ridiculous multiplayer mode that puts everyone on the same map at the same time, trying to complete the same quest."

As if I needed inspiration to drink more booze, but thank you for the heads up! It's worth a shot. Or three.

B: "Well, I'm sorry, Timmy, but I don't dip that way."

Is that dialogue from this game? Am I missing something? Apparently I am. ;p

Well this actually sounds great in so many ways, but it has found a place in my heart just for trying something new.

I loved the PSP version. Thank god they left the original graphics in as an option--the new crappy-flash-game look is HIDEOUS

This looks great and I'll probably play it, but I kind of wish it were $5 and also on iPad.

That said, fun review.

The original PSP title was great so I'm glad to see them putting it somewhere more accessible because I loved the idea. I don't remember if I played Dark Prince mode but I did play Princess mode as well and that was fun too.
But yeah I recommend buying this out even just to try it $10 isn't too steep and if nothing else you'll get a few cheap laughs at it, the script is pretty funny.

Wait so Evil Lord/Knight/Princess/300/3 all got cut and nothing was added to hero 30?

That's really... kinda depressing.

The article says that 300 and 3 are still there, just the Knight/Princess modes got reworked into the core game.

Hey Joystiq, bit of feedback: I like how when you click on a title of a game, it takes you to a central page for that game... But that page needs more info! The name of the developer, publisher, platform and release date should be standard on all of those little pages! Just sayin:) Thanks....

@KGameLover1 From what I read in the review:

""Evil Lord 30," "Princess 30," and "Knight 30" modes were vastly different styles of gameplay like RTS games and shooters, but here they're single missions in the style of the main game with some new rules -- a sacrifice of variety for more of the "real" experience."

So they are here but in a different form.

You can switch the graphics to the old version! I didn't even realize that until I'd played several quests.

One caveat I found after playing this, the Xbox 360 controller can make it very frustrating to play. Since there's no diagonal movement, it's easy to accidentally walk in entirely the wrong direction, or suddenly stop moving because your thumb wandered to far and your hero is trying to walk into a wall. Using the 360 controller's awful D-pad is even worse than the control stick (it's still too easy to tilt the wrong way, and the design of the controller means your thumb is already at an angle on it)

It's a bit annoying during regular play, but downright frustrating if you're trying to get better scores, or finish levels without resetting - when fractions of a second are vital, you need to be able to walk straight without running into a wall!
