Jesus, Joystiq.

Is it too much to ask for a hilariously photoshopped picture of Stringer with a superimposed McDonald's hat on his head?

With that said, allow me to apologize to the generalized, disparaging remarks I've made in the past about all shareholders everywhere ever.

The ability to identify a frog-faced, two-legged douche from a distance is most impressive, indeed.

"Go away"

A quote from a game to do with a storm shelter. But nobody will get it because it's a supremely cool game that was too good for its time.

They're looking for a scape goat though. I'd wager the PSN security breach had nothing to do with executive decisions and would have happened regardless of who was in the CEO chair.

A bit pointless getting rid of him. If anyone is aware of how bad things can get it will be him. He has the experience of weathering this storm, which wasn't caused by him.

Every company has been caught with their pants down by the hackers. Those that haven't were either lucky or took immediate action in secret to beef up their security. If MS had been targetted first, Sony would have quietly improved their security.

The only reason Steam hasn't been hit is because the hackers are shut-ins permanently glued to their PCs who couldn't live without Steam and/or feared the backlash from other Steam using PC hackers.

No doubt Valve took measures to make sure they were better defended in the wake of the Sony attack, but no company is going to make a big announcement about that as it would make them a prime target and also expose that they hadn't been doing their best up to that point.

Sony's leadership, including subsidiaries, needs replacing. They were losing money for multiple quarters BEFORE the PSN hacks. The PSN hacks were the last straw.

"Stringer also told shareholders that, following the resumption of PSN services, 90% of users have returned. Presumably, that's 90% of the users who can return, a group that doesn't include anyone in Japan since PSN access (specifically the store) hasn't been fully reactivated."

Hate to be that guy but... doesn't that mean that everyone can return, considering that the lack of playstation store doesn't prevent access to the PSN and all it's other functionalities?

Oh wait, aknowledging that would prevent you to conclude the article with the witty punchline... to hell with journalism. Punchlines are better.

... I guess.

Let's also ask the head of every other company that's ever been hacked to step down while we're at it.
That's like telling an Olympic gold medalist to give up his gold medal because he forgot to close his cereal box that morning
Stupid shareholder..

Get rid of Jack Tretton first and foremost. He is the cause of all negative publicity for Sony and gave the "hackers" their cause to attack in the first place. He's just an all around asshole.

Sony problem is a couple of divisions are sliding and have been for some time. They need to get back to their core business. The movie business is being run into the ground. The music division is dying. The phone business has been run into the ground. They might consider jettisoning those divisions.

Later on, that shareholder is going to be found out back in a dumpster. If they're not around to complain, no one loses their job. I think it's a conspiracy.

Either that, or the shareholder is just dumb. Or maybe correct. Okay, they're just dumb.
