Makes sense. Austin is very friendly to tech companies, has lots of space, is near multiple universities which makes for easy recruitment, and is a very beautiful place to live.

It's also got several other game companies, which makes me think there is some sort of tax incentive as well.

@mrantimatter

The area around Austin is nice with hills and some beautiful country. Austin downtown is typical crowded urban living and is great if you are into living with 1000 people around you constantly. If you want to live like a Hipster on the cheap, it is probably the cheapest Hipster community in the U.S. as evident by the "Keep Austin Weird" community. Despite what outsiders think Austin is really conservative excluding the small dense downtown area.

I've lived her for over 4 years now, it's liberal as hell, really. Well, at least compared to the rest of the state.

With all the immigrants, young people, etc, it's hard not to be a bit more liberal.

@FriedConsole

Austin's one of the most liberal cities in the nation, actually. Otherwise, you are correct, sir.

@mrantimatter

I believe the Austin area is home to 80+ game studios these days. Very good place to work in this industry.

And just when I thought EA Sports wasn't releasing enough annual games they spring this shit on me.
God works in mysterious ways.

@Faris Hilton I think the idea is more people to work on the EA sports games we have at the moment not to make any new one but you might know some thing every one else doesn't.

I find it insulting that EA would find that former Ignition employees lacks enough innovation to be employ by EA.

The Bioware Austin office must have some extra space. They probably just want an EA presence there to keep track and make sure Bioware is staying up to EA sweatshop standards.

Great, even longer lines at Franklin's. Just what we need.

I despise that city. Anytime I have to go there I just prepare for too much traffic, hipsters, hippies and time moves extremely slow there. Bleh.
