I know my kids online friends very well thank you very much.

HD doesn't look that great. There are mods out there that do a better job.

Depends on how much these will go for on the market.

i know... this Resident Evil are quite good enough to buy it... again, but seriosly Capcom we want the old good Resident Evil formula with the lastest graphics of the Playstation 3...! WE WANT A SURVIVAL HORROR GAME with some new revolucionary stuff c'mon! and the new raccon city its a stupid copy/paste of left for dead and some other features of the NOW BORING TPS game system, so please Capcom we know that you want our money... but al least this time... can you even try to effort...? Quality not Quantity

Well, I know I'm gladly going to pay for HD RE4 on XBLA, and of course, there's Revelations coming this fall that will make the return to the classic style with some more recent mechanics.

I would prefer a disc release here as well. Both my PS3 and 360 hard drives are getting low on space as it is. Might up to upgrade one or both of them. At least the PS3 is pretty easy to do

@Wompdevil I can't read Japanese, but if you look at the screen before you hit play, it says something about DVD and Blu-Ray, so there might be disc versions as well. I hope so, because I'm low on harddrive space as well.

I'm confused... what "mods" are there for these games? Are you talking about emulators that will run them more nicely... or are there texture packs floating around or something that I've never heard of?

@Softserve There are texture packs (2 major ones), HD cutscenes packs and there's enbseries which adds effects like motion blur, depth of field, bloom, etc.

@Androu1 That's for RE4, I clarify. (Was CV released on PC? If so, it could probably use ENBSeries too)

@Androu1 Did they actually fix the mouse/gamepad aiming properly ? The last mouse mod I tried for RE4 was simulating the keyboard and that felt really bad.

I can see why they chose these games to be remastered. CV offers the old school gameplay, while RE4 has modernized controls. Plus these games are also some of the best in the franchise.

Uhhhh....were there updated Code Veronica graphics in there at all? Are they seriously not going to redo them at all? Game's too old to just make it HD, it still looks awful. Dude gotta put some work into their remakes if they gonna justify reselling it.

What did you expect, troll? Code Veronica is like an 11 year old game. Of course it isn't going to look amazing, but it is still a good game as graphics don't mean everything.

@The Cole Train I'm not sure how that's trolling.

They took an old game, upped the resolution and that's it? They're going to want $20 to $30 for that?

It's undeniable that they could have put a modicum of work into it. Fixing up some textures, adding some better effects. As it stands the video appears to show that they did the absolute bare minimum.

I, for one, am not really big on companies releasing old games for those prices and then not touching them at all. I could get Beyond Good and Evil HD for $10, for example.

Well the whole point of these HD re-releases are a cash grab, they don't really add anything to the games, (not only these two, but HD remakes in general,) so you can't really expect much other than very slight touch ups. Especially when RE:Code Veronica is about decade old. They expect people to buy HD re-releases solely on a nostalgia factor for fans, or for people that missed out when they first came out.

Maybe I was wrong calling him a troll for that in this thread, and I apologize for that.

Yeah I dreamed of an RE4 port that used RE5's engine. It would take a bit of work, but it is possible to import the models and touch them up a bit.

But I guess they will make even more profit doing nothing except rendering it at a higher resolution.

I'm sold, man. The vid is low quality - it'll look much better on your TVs. Since the vehicle for these is Games on Demand (not sure what its equivalent is called on PSN), could that possibly mean 1000 Gamerscore (or max trophies) a piece!? That'll be tons of fun!

@SlyBeast There isn't really a "category" on PS3. It'd just be released as a game on PSN and that's pretty much it.

Ehh I'm gonna pass, there's barely a difference in both versions, 4 looks great already on any console version its in and CV needs a rebuild, not to be scale only in HD.

A better idea for the anniversary would've been to remake RE2 or 3 and CV in the graphical style of the RE's that came out in the GC, but nah Capcom wants easy money like they did with the Mercenaries 3D.

It seems like a good purchase only if you havent played this games before.

@CapiCoco I think a lot of people would gladly pay full price for an updated RE2. I would be satisfied with totally redone pre-rendered backgrounds, but it would be awesome if it was full 3D like RE4/RE5.

I'm really not sure why they've not bothered with that yet. We can't pretend that they don't like re-releasing these games lol

During the side-by-side comparison. Did the orignal RE4 look better than the HD remake to anyone, or was that just because of the low video quality?

Considering my launch model PS2 finally kicked the bucket last year and the fact I haven't played RE4 since a bit after it was released, this is pretty attractive to me. I'll be picking this up for sure. Defiantly looks better than ever this time around. Hopefully I can find the time between new releases.

The Wii version of RE4 is the best version. The controls are perfect in that game.

I don't see what's been upgraded. The textures are sharper, but that's it.

Coded Veronica should be rebuilt using the RE5 engine (even the RE4 engine would make it look amazing). It looks abysmal by today's graphics standards.

Resident Evil 4 looked just fine on the Wii. This "HD" version looks exactly the same.

This is like a game of "Spot the Difference". I don't see it.

2- If a newer version with slight improvments is released I get the upgrade for free
3- I don't have to be signed on to PSN to play the game I purchased

Why is everyone so hung up on the PC version of RE4? I don't care how many mods you slap onto it to make it look slightly better, the aiming with a pad is completely messed up, and the cutscenes are still prerendered. And I've used several graphical enhancement mods on it myself, and none even look as good as the Wii version running in Dolphin.

I don't know why some of you guys were expecting an overhaul for some of these games. Really, CV on the RE5 engine? You nuts?

These guys are simply riding the bandwagon (or did they start it? don't recall) -- make previous games look sharper and call it "HD." It's an easy way to make a quick buck.

Take 3SOE into consideration: anyone who messed with an emulator that had graphic filters would recognize that 3SOE is just that -- 3S with some filters (I like the original better ^^;).

I've already gave these games a few runs (curse you, speedruns!), so I'm most likely going to pass on these..
