Not even BioWare knows what Tali looks like

If a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, would a space-babe by any other face... uhm, be as spacey? Or something? Forget it.

In a recent interview with CVG, Mass Effect 3 Art Director Derek Watts admitted that his team tends to avoid discussing the visage behind Tali'Zorah's lavender visor, primarily because they still have no idea what's in there.

"That's something we're going to have to decide." says Derek. "We've had a lot of debate over Tali's face, but that's the one we kind of dread a lot." While it hasn't been confirmed that Tali will be unmasked at some point during BioWare's upcoming space odyssey, Derek laments that "Obviously people are going to be pissed off either way." Hoho! I am only playing through ME2 now and I wasn't really expecting the mask to be revealed. I guess this confirms it.

Just based on the voice alone -- Middle Eastern or Indian looking woman but alien looking as well.

I get what you're saying, but his reasoning isn't really bad. Many humanoid aliens in sci-fi are drawn from established things. Often they make take features of human races and put them on the aliens. I don't really think she will look like that though. I'm thinking Asian Space Elf. Why? Well you can see her eyes. they are kinda of distinct. Space Elf? Because.

Hope they do reveal her face. Atleast once to give us some peace in mind.

Master Chief was pretty much the face, no pun intended, of an entire genre for a decade. Tali was a side character in a game that is popular, yes, but not as influential as Halo. I simply have to admit Halo's importance as the archetype for all modern FPSs and I don't even LIKE Halo. And Master Chief, bland as he is, just also happens to be the leading man of such game.

Tali, worth as a character aside, doesn't have that and could never have that.

You strike me as a someone who constantly sees the glass as half full...

PenisMightier, you are trying too hard.

Its not a placeholder, they will not replace that model with the real model. Its a graphical element so you can barely see features behind the fog, the parts they want seen had to be exaggerated and the parts they don't want seen were taken back based on the visibility of the fog. Replacing that with the real model won't achieve the look they were going for with the mask on.

I'm imagining the big unveiling and seeing a predator face, then Shepard saying (if you romanced Tali in ME2, and be honest , most of us did.) "Oh wow...hey, on second thought, this isn't gonna work out...it's not you, its me..." walks away, and barely heard down the hall "Hey Ashley, you got hot, wanna see my captain's lounge?"
