Am I the only person who was disappointed by this game? I found it difficult to play and I lost interest after 30 minutes or so.

You could just set up an account with a false name & info, if you're really that opposed to Facebook as a rule & don't want people you know to find you on it for some reason.

@swooded You can't used fake info. I tried that first because I don't like sharing actual personal information, but the bastards at FB actually scanned the records of the school I said I went to and found that the name I used wasn't in there, and they kicked me off. I had to ask for my account back and change it to my real info then to get it back and keep it >.

@Jetleo1

That's because you used TOO much fake info. Keep it to the bare minimum and you too have an acount like Dirk Hardpecs.

@Jetleo1 ...all you need is a real email thats fake. i have a fake facebook that i used a real (fake) email to make and it's been going for about two years. needed it for back when i played farmville... i was sooo misguided back then.

The interface is awful. I've played Civ II through V and my wife never said anything. I loaded this up and she asked if I was playing Farmville, lol.

Explain why a game being incredibly adictive and time consuming is a good thing? They even use it in their advertising campaigns, and I think to myself "but that's a terribly bad thing."

Same goes for Minecraft, all the cretins posting about "OMG, I played it all last night, didn't go to bed til 5am!!" THAT'S A VERY BAD THING. >:O

@Dick Socrates

Playing a game till 5 am can be considered a bad thing. That a game is so attractive as to make you want to play till 5 am is a good thing. It's not the game's fault you choose to spend way too much time playing it.

Should we await the news articles claiming that a neglectful mother played CIVILIZATION WORLD long into the night, ignoring the pooey-diaper filled cries of her bastard children?

The answer is yes.

Found a review online:

"Civ World will of course will also be fueled in part by microtransactions, in the form of CivBucks. You can earn them by playing or buy them outright. CivBucks have a number of uses; you can purchase new customization objects for your throne room or spend them on specific, temporary GAMEPLAY ADVANTAGES."

No thank you. Even if the advantages are subtle (at the beginning of the business plan), it still is something that inherently breaks multiplayer gameplay in any game:

Player A: Check mate!
Player B: Wait, not yet! I still have a time window to buy another pawn! I'll get my credit card!

It's still in the beta phase, good luck connecting. Server space is LIMITED, to say the least.

Seriously, I was up until about 3am last night, playing this.

It's just as addictive as the full game.

These facebook games are stupid, all you do is click on stuff and you advance forward, and occasionaly buy things to get ahead. Now if you will excuse me I must go play Lord of the Rings Online.
