Is it too much to ask that they release non Game Boy games for the 3DS? I feel like the eShop is going to waste.

I thought we'd see a 3DS Classic like Xevious this week.

Yeah, it was an early one for me too. I traded some kid at summer camp the game where you were a little dinosaur that dug holes (the name escapes me,) for it.

Another week, another list of lame releases on the eShop. I'm almost to the point where I'll stop checking what they upload.

Seriously Nintendo?? This e-store is turning into an epic letdown week after week. Can we get some GB Color games & what about that extensive GB Advance library??? It started off great but has been nothing but disappointing since Zelda:Links Awakening

I predict this will become just like the Wii VC... some obvious classics and then random releases of stuff people didn't even want when it was new. Releases will become fewer and fewer and the really cool stuff might never even appear.

I really don't get why it's so hard for them to release emulated games that are practically sheer profit. It's not like they're adding new modes or anything.

Do you seriously think the only issue with releasing these games is whether it's technically possible or not?

Gameboy games are very underwhelming, even at that price. I'd grab GB Donkey Kong, and some of the GBC titles as I totally skipped that console.

Where are the GBA and "TurboExpress" games?

Too many of you actually expected Nintendo to get their act together with their Virtual Console service. They let the VC on Wii rot. What made you all think that they were all the sudden start doing something different with the 3DS?

Let this be a lesson to all of you who throw all of your old stuff away.

I certainly don't throw my old hardware away. I sell it, or give it away if anyone I know wants it.

In general I don't particularly want to play old games at all; if I wanted to play it on GBA I probably already played it back when it was new, right?

But I agree if anyone somehow expected Nintendo to release their entire library of GBA games (let alone SNES etc) within the first year of 3DS launch, um... wtf were they thinking. :)

The real problem is you all expect epic releases every week. That would be nice, but it makes more sense to release the goods ones gradually over time.

Plus summer has always proven to be lame for releases. Why would they uncharacteristically release their big games during a time where people wouldn't buy?

Wii VC didn't rot either, I'm so sick of hearing that crap. Most of the good Nintendo games came out for it. All the other games you loved as a kids that didn't come out, you need to go blame the publisher. I'm sure most of those games are a rights nightmare to get on there. Be happy with what you got. No Earthbound is the only inexcusable thing.

That said, Qix is one of my favorite GB games. My grandfather bought it for me, and I played it like crazy. Can't wait.

"The real problem is you all expect epic releases every week."

No, we expect at least a few epic releases. Right now there are only two games on the eShop that are really considered classics. Right now, the eShop is just getting started, and Nintendo needs to release some must-have gameboy classics if they want people to keep paying attention. A new platform needs killer-apps to draw people in, and while the eShop does have a couple good games now, there's nothing to really keep interest.

Honestly, if they released something that was a huge hit, like Pokemon Yellow, most people would shut up. But there's nothing that enticing at all on the eShop, and it's alienating longtime nintendo fans and potential new buyers as well.

*sigh* People just complain to complain these days. But whatever, I'll bite.

The thing just launched in June and we already have Super Mario Land, Kirby, Link's Awakening, and Donkey Kong '94. ALL of which are must play games.

And I'm not trying to be insulting here by assuming your age, but I'm guessing since you want Pokemon Yellow, you are probably younger than when the Game Boy launched. You probably don't realize that Donkey Kong 94 is probably one of the most epic games released for the hand held. It isn't just 4 levels of DK that you know. It is over 100 platforming levels where Mario has about the same move set he has in Mario 64. Go download that, and play it all the way through without save states and then you will be ready for the next big title they release.

What I can agree with you on are the 3D classics, which we have one so far and the upcoming ones look pretty bad. However, they are pretty much making these games from scratch so I can afford them a little leeway.

Also I have very little interest in the Pokemon GB games as they have remade all of them by now, and made them better and in the remakes you can take your Pokemon and move them to the newer titles. Why would you want to go through all that with inferior graphics and gameplay? (Yes yes, I know they haven't remade Yellow, so you can't have a Pikachu starter Pokemon. Big Whoop.)

They also forget that you need to renew license for games, localization, getting second and third party developers to ok the games, and ESRB rating need to be applied.

So? They have to do all that for these less than stellar titles as well. It's the same process for Super Mario Land as it is for anything else.

I don't expect epic releases every week. What's disheartening is the vast library that Nintendo & 3rd party publishers are sitting on. Final Fantasy 3 just hit the Wii Virtual Console last week!! My point is the pace at which they distribute these titles is glacial at best. There should be at least 2 big titles per month with all the systems they've talked about porting over.
