He's actually been watching his weight and dieting for awhile now, but nice to know you're looking out for him.

Episode 3 gets delayed every time you make a joke about Gaves weight.

@TCJJ OMG is Gabe Newell over weight? Why don't you same something clever like," the cake is a lie"...it would be vaguely on topic too! You kids and your pithy little comments!

I would seriously watch "El Muchacho". I really enjoyed this key note; Gaming pushing the envelope on how people outside of the hobby and industry tackle their problems, express their ideals and a tool for an awesome teaching experience.

@SilentSoul I might just have to talk to XLR about that then =) Still disappointed that GabeN thinks it was a bunch of kids and one parent that did that, though - most of us on the project were mid-late college-age guys, and the "parent" is a friend of ours that's working towards becoming a professional voice actor.

The hell... Valve didn't invent Counter Strike - dude...

But the team that made it is a part of Valve... So yea, they kind of did.

Gabe Newell is so awesome. He helps create great games, co-founded Valve/Steam, flew a dude in to play Left 4 Dead 2 to show how awesome it was, and what really sold it for me was when he was in that Mega64 skit. I really with there were more Gabes and less McNameras out there.

Nice Keynote, the only disappointing thing was that nobody though about asking Gabe's opinion about the biggest socio-economic issue at the moment; When will Episode 3 be released?

Its amazing how not even one comment is really about what Gabe says on his speech. We all want Episode 3. It will probably be released in 15 years. Get over it.
I really admire Valve's point of view about games. Games are not just entertainment. They also allow us to get a deeper understanding of the human mind. Valve is contributing to allow other people see videogames not just as an art medium, but also as a teaching tool. Kudos to Gabe and all the other developers at Valve who are trying to evolve the medium, who are able to take first person shooters into something else entirely.
