Very bad trailer, but I am excited regardless. I loved playing Planetside and listening to the Black Hawk Down soundtrack as I was being whisked into the heat of battle.

And this game better not remove my ability to put respawn vehicles in trees. No one suspects the trees.

Not really the information I'm looking for, it's basically just telling us it's a sequel and the same type of game.

But hopefully this official announcement will lead to the specifics people want.

Hope it's better then MAG was.... I don't want that kind of disappointment again. Hopefully The agency will keep me company when it comes.... oh wait.... never mind...

@Johnnynumber5 is powered by cell I loved the concept for the game, but the game just wasn't that good. I loved the fact that there were 256 players with little to no lag but the weapons didn't feel powerful, the game was glitchy, the spawning is broken, the teams are unbalenced towards sver, and it takes a good half hour to join a large game. I can attest because I purposely joined sver so that I could actually win games.

SVER is very difficult to beat when you are going against them on their map. I had no issue with spawning and never really experienced any glitches. I haven't played the game in a while but I'm sure a lot of folks moved on and being such a large game it probably takes forever to load into a match. I liked the skill tree system because it allowed you to play as a unique class without tying you to a particular class. I always had max medic & engineer with a basic rifle or machine gun. I just think the game was far from a disappointment. Obviously you sacrifice graphics with that many players on screen with a consistent frame rate and no lag. Imagine combining the core tenants of MAG with the destructibility of BF3. Maybe when PS4 comes out that'll be a possibility.

I didn't play the first Planetside, but the idea of an FPS MMO sounds awesome to me. I did hear about it quite some time ago, and when I checked videos on YouTube, it didn't look very MMO. What are some differences between Planetside and a "normal" MMO like WoW, aside from replacing magic and different moves with first person shooting?

@Levi It's hard to explain... I tried to on a vacation last week. To sum it up it was all about being part of a giant army and as a group you decide how to fight back, how to defend, and how to keep everyone working together. You would form up, make a plan, load up, and move out. Most nights were mild but the weekend you could find yourself in giant 100+ vs 100+ battles. You also couldn't be a one man army. You need to have pilots to move troops, engineers to help repair bases and vehicles, hackers to get into the base, etc... You could fight an your opponents for a base for over an hour, hack it, then lose it because no one drove to get solar energy for the base. Every night you played was almost unique in itself.

In the end I left because of balance issues after creating a 140+ Outfit (clan). Met a lot of friends I still play with to this day.

IDK it was great. Will it be better then BF3? Doubtful but is it a much different game.

having played planetside extensively, being forced into iron sights is the biggest concern from the trailer, other than it looks like the exact same gameplay from the first game.

iron sights for this game are a horrible idea, and not "realistic", it's a space shooter with floating tanks and energy weapons. think it through sony, think it through.
