TimeGate Studios has introduced a new map pack and game mode coming to Section 8: Prejudice later this month. The Frontier Colonies Map Pack will be out on July 13 on Xbox 360 and PC for 320 Microsoft Points/$3.99, and will bring Desolation, a desert map featuring the ruins of a previous colonization, and Overseer, which offers fighting through military facilities in a "habitable forest valley." Both of those maps will be available for all game modes.
They'll also support the new Skirmish mode, which will arrive for free later this summer. Skirmish mode plays like Team Deathmatch, but all of that killing is taking place while you're also earning Victory points for completing missions. Control Points are out of the game, however, and players will need to adjust as needed. Sounds interesting -- TimeGate promises more info on that mode and a release of the map pack on PSN coming soon.

Eh ... aren't we still waiting on the release of the game on the PSN, never mind the expansion ...?

Well think about it. The first Section 8 game was a full priced retail game that didn't set the world on fire. TimeGate made improvements on their original formula and went downloadable the second time around. This change in strategy allowed them enough success to keep supporting the game with DLC.
What I'm trying to say is I can't wait to play the downloadable version of Brink 2. $15 is the sweet spot for that type of game. And if they address the communities complaints they may be rewarded with support for future DLC.

@sweetbrother If this game doesn't come out this month I'm passing on it, July is slow and perfect for release. Once Deus Ex comes out the stream of heavy hitters is non stop till December and Time Gate will have lost out on a lot of sales on PSN.

The Section 8 community is still pretty strong on PSN, but, wouldn't mind knowing when (or if) Predudice is coming on PSN.

The first game is on the PSN. "Prejudice" is not.
I could be wrong, but I think it was supposed to come out during the outage.

I wish people were still playing this game on PC. I'm going to be jumping for joy if it's on Steam sale.

Note to game developers: If you want to sell a game on PC, don't add Games for Windows Live.

Hurray! Can't wait for the DLC and finally being able to play it on PS3. I hate Xbox live but it's the only way to play Prejudice at the moment. Well that or GFWL *shudders*.

I have a ton of fun playing this on xbox still. The weapon/suit customizations add a lot of flexibility and the ability to bring in turrets/mechs adds a little strategy. Plus, I never seem to get tired of entering the level from orbit at mach 6.

I believe now would be the right time to give us an idea of how many people are still playing, and if they're worth playing with, and further: that the DLC is worth buying.

DLC worth buying -- not on merit, but on having people to enjoy it with.
