Sony has extended the registration period in the
United States for its identity-theft protection service, AllClear ID Plus, which will provide one year of free, intensive security coverage for PSN and Qriocity users. Registration will now run until July 31 (at 11:59:59 p.m. CST, Sony has been sure to clarify), right from the US PlayStation website.
The offer initially ended June 28, so sign up now while this armored, bullet-proof window of opportunity is still open.

I live in Europe and we still don't have a word on the matter. I don't think that anyone will try and charge us, but Sony is inexcusable for not covering us - just in case.

Nice of them to do. I like the good will Sony is trying to build.
PS, I don't think 'identity theft' is hyphenated.

And the good will they're trying to tear down with PSN Pass.

Great. Now they just need to extend the offer to the whole world.

This 'identity theft' protection isn't identity theft protection. From an argument I had with them on Twitter:
"AllClear ID Plus includes Internet surveillance, but does not include credit monitoring"
And the value of THIS is very questionable, considering one of my passwords is currently googleable, and my name, gender, DOB, address, telephone number, and a bunch of other identifying information is currently available on a couple sites thanks to other breaches. I've never received a call from these clownboats. Sony is getting ripped off terribly by this service, and we're getting nothing in the way of actual protection.

Well clearly they're not security experts.
So they're hiring professional in security to do it.

A bit of an over reaction don't you think? Especially since there have been no cases of fraud due to the PSN breach and likely never will be since the credit card info was encrypted. Not only that they have offered you identity-theft protection. Unless you thing the government is reading your thoughts or you wear tin foil headgear this is a non issue.

You can always call SCEA support. They will terminate your account if you want them to. But I don't think they'll delete your personal information, but instead just make your account invalid (Not sure). Anyway just google for "terminate PSN account" and you'll probably find the right number to call. You could ask them what exactly happens to your account information when terminated before actually going through with it as well.
But as previous posters have said. If your information was stolen during the hack, it wouldn't do you any good to kill your account now. That would only help you if there were any new hacks in the future.
So yeah, you can just go ahead now and revive your PS3 and enjoy some Infamous 2.
