ExtraLives' 'Mop Up Marathon' raising money for school

We oppose video games being used to educate, but we'll make an exception just this once. ExtraLives.org will raise money to build a school in an underdeveloped country with a 'Mop Up Marathon' of the games they've missed in similar events through the years. Find a full list right after the break.

Why would they torture themselves by playing some of these games? Superman 64? You've gotta be crazy!

They may as well add Sonic 06 to the Sonic block.

@patboy2008 Tim, the main guy behind ExtraLives, actually doesn't mind Sonic '06 that much. He can't stand Sonic Heroes, though.

@randalthor Plus, we beat Sonic '06. ...more times than anyone should ever be forced to do.

Focus of the Marathon is to just go through all the games we never had time to finish during our fundraisers. Somehow we deemed Sonic '06 worthy enough to complete and gave Shadow the boot.

Oh, ok. I never did have the patience to beat Sonic '06 and I don't think I ever will.

Also, I see Goemon in the banner. Where's the Goemon games?

The focus of the fundraiser is to go through all the old Marathons we had and beat all of the games that we didn't have time to do at the time. So, for example, "Mario Marathon (December, 2010)" means that those games listed are the ones we never finished from our Mario Marathon back in December of last year. Hope that clears it up for you!

Also, the Goemon in the banner is referring to some little in-joke we developed from the 64 Hours of the N64 Marathon and the person who drew up the banner decided to include it. Same for the extremely manly looking Pokemon Crystal character and Gyarados with makeup.

I would donate for Vietnamese Crystal. Good DAMN, that has been a hilarious Let's Play. Delicious bakemeat.

Will definitely be watching this, it will be my second time watching an extralives marathon, having see (and played for 9 hours :S) the minecraft marathon for japan back in march.
