This brings flashbacks to SIM Tower. I played that endlessly in my early years.

Also, great work Justin. I'm glad to see the gems that appear on the appstore getting some time in the limelight.

@bigwhiteyeti The reason I love this game is BECAUSE of its similarities to SIMTower. There are also a lot of funny in-jokes, like references to retro games and stand-up comedy bits.

@bigwhiteyeti For those interested there is a real version of SimTower called Yoot Tower for the iPad. Yoot Saito was the original creater of a game called The Tower, which was later brought to the US by Maxis as a part of the already popular "Sim" series.

As someone said, there is Yoot Tower for ipad for retro simtower fun. For a more modern take on the same concept, there is VegasTowers HD. It crashes A LOT on my iPad 1, but it's fun.. :P

Addicting yet as usual never satisfying, I erased after 10 towers and realizing that you have to look at the game pretty much every hour to progress with out spending real dollars. Only $29.99 for 1000 superbux ! Lol

I think I got 22 levels now, I stock up at night and by the morning I got enough cash for a new level in the tower.

One trick I read that has really worked for me is to keep your apartments only 4 full, and not the full capacity because you want to be sure that anyone who visits and has a dream job you need can get an apt.

this means evicting alot of people. but I have made peace with myself being a slum lord.

Cool. I don't have an iPhone (so this article is a little irrelevant to me), but I'm looking forward to this new column.

The summary of the column at the top says that it will cover downloadable games on the "iPhone, iPad, Android device, DSi, 3DS, PSP, etc"

I have an Android phone and a 3DS, so sounds good to me.

Ah, cool. I have a Galaxy S as well (the AT&T model). It has gotten kind of slow in recent days, though. I have been intending on upgrading to v2.2, yet I continue to procrastinate.

And yeah, it seems the sarcasam was lost on me. That seems to happen way too often for my liking...

Oooh...This sounds like my kind of joint. I always liked that feeling of management and restocking and creating a balanced and satisfying facility. Hard to explain, but for some reason that's really appealing to me.

Up to 29 floors!

This game is pretty thin but quite addictive. Half the fun is derived by personal design goals -- like making sure everyone who works at my pub has a beard and sunglasses.

Charming but it's losing it's crack-like grip on me.

Actually, Justin, I am patient enough.

Now, admittedly, I did buy some. Because I wanted to give the developer a few bucks, not impatience. I swear.

Awesome, this is a great new feature. I just know there is so much good stuff out there but don't have the patience to wade through it all myself.

Which means Tiny Tower probably won't actually end up being free for me. Oh well! I'll still check it out

If Apple would only up that dang screen to at least 4" I'd really consider an iphone. I cant for the life of me type or really enjoy that 3.5" it has now.

Bad news; this isn't Sim Tower... Not even close.
Good news; I'm on floor 45, with over 80 residents, and I finally got the Paintball Arena that I've had three Bitizens clamouring to work at! Gotta run, my Tech Store needs restocking...
Better news; I've not spent a penny on it. Just checked in a few times a day to clean things up - notifications became too distracting after about the 20th floor.

It's funny now, I get up before my wife, she says, check the tiny tower, of course I am, even without her prompting, I buy a new level with the cash we accumalated over the night, (got to love 24 hour commerce) I start restocking for the day, I usually do the 1 hour stocking items, and by the time I am ready to leave, the items are ready and restock the rest, then the wife does the rest.

we are an addicted couple and reality is bending for us. yesterday i saw a real life Karate studio in a shopping mall and I mentioned to the wife how sad it was for the kids there because its none of three bitizens dream job who work there. So the kids are getting a less than enthusiastic instructors.

then this morning my wife is concerned because we just opened a casion and is concerned about the 'type' of people it will attract to tiny tower...

@stressflyer I know the feeling - it speak to the same part of me that, after getting addicted to Burnout Paradise, want to rush and lunge towards any buses that were coming towards me in the street, and the same part that noticed every white wall when out and about while playing Portal 2... My mind is so easily coerced...

I played this game for seemingly 4 days straight. It's an awesome game but it demands so much attention such as restocking this item or ordering the items to be restocked, but then you have to wait for it to be done "stocking" and press the stock button again before it is actually available. I had to stop playing it, I couldn't pay attention to anything else.
