The first 3,000 folks in North America who purchase the game through the THQ Online Store will receive the "Saints Row Season Pass" for free. The pass, "valued at more than $20," will grant access to three downloadable mission packs. The season pass is likely similar to those by Warner Bros. for Mortal Kombat and by Rockstar for LA Noire.
Saints Row: The Third's 'Hyper Ordinary' pre-order pack is madness

If you figured Saints Row: The Third's pre-order bonus was going to be a real life "sex toy bat," don't feel bad ... so did we. Turns out the actual pre-order bonus is far tamer, but a whole lot crazier. The Professor Genki's Super Ethical Reality Climax "Hyper Ordinary Pre-Order Pack" includes in-game items like Prof Genki's Super Ballistic Man-a-pult truck, Prof. Genki's "Octopuss" cannon that fires baby octopi, and Prof. Genki's Leisure Stunt Suit with Genki mask. Admit it, you still want the giant, purple, rubber phallus.

Nope. The only thing that would make me pre-order this right now, would be if that cat car had a rainbow follow you when you drive it around.

It was in the trailer, leading me to think it isn't exclusive. It's just something you get immediately rather than having to find.
Meh.

man, pre-orders have spoiled people recently. i remember when a pre-order used to net you a pretty receipt and maybe an empty case to take home. now we want exclusive content that you can't get somewhere else.

Oh, you know, by THQ themselves. They started the whole pre-paid DLC thing with last year's WWE SvR game.

Very tempting, but considering Amazon will undoubtedly do a pre-order credit, Amazon seems like the far safer bet. SR2 had the best co-op ever, but that doesn't mean the third game will be any good. Besides, the DLC for SR2 was horrible and overpriced.

I'm kind of hoping preorder numbers on their site isn't what they want and they just throw it Amazon, Gamestop, BestBuy, etc's way.
Or just sell it for cheaper as a seperate thing. The only season pass I've ever bought was the MK one and it's been fantastic so far.

Is the PC version going to be decent this time?

Darksiders on PC plays well enough, the only issue is a lack of configurability on the graphics, but a decent card renders that moot. (You basically can change resolution, and that's about it.) The controls were fine and it runs well, the chief problem with SR2. For that matter, Red Faction: Guerilla ran pretty well, too. SR2 was ported by an outside house, IIRC, whereas Darksiders/RF were internally done.

Man every time I see a new Saints Row vid it seems they have something new or interesting to show off. And yes, this video also makes me want to play this a bit more.

The first one was a ton of sandbox fun, despite all the glitches and game crashes. I was really upset when they didn't fix that stuff in the 2nd one. I will pass on this. Don't feel like paying $60 more to this franchise to keep beta testing their titles.

The 2nd game was exponentially better than Saints Row 1. Additionally, I never experienced one glitch or freeze. Worth every penny.

I love Saints Row 2, but all the DLC for that game was trash. I think I can wait for this to go on sale.

So one of the only vehicles they make a point of showing in their first gameplay demo, is a pre-order bonus. What a bunch of tossers.
