The first 3,000 folks in North America who purchase the game through the THQ Online Store will receive the "Saints Row Season Pass" for free. The pass, "valued at more than $20," will grant access to three downloadable mission packs. The season pass is likely similar to those by Warner Bros. for Mortal Kombat and by Rockstar for LA Noire.
man, pre-orders have spoiled people recently. i remember when a pre-order used to net you a pretty receipt and maybe an empty case to take home. now we want exclusive content that you can't get somewhere else.
Very tempting, but considering Amazon will undoubtedly do a pre-order credit, Amazon seems like the far safer bet. SR2 had the best co-op ever, but that doesn't mean the third game will be any good. Besides, the DLC for SR2 was horrible and overpriced.
Not only that but with Amazon you get release date delivery for 99 cents (or free for Prime) while the THQ store wants $13 to ship 3-day. $13 to ship something light enough to go through standard mail? No thanks.
Darksiders on PC plays well enough, the only issue is a lack of configurability on the graphics, but a decent card renders that moot. (You basically can change resolution, and that's about it.) The controls were fine and it runs well, the chief problem with SR2. For that matter, Red Faction: Guerilla ran pretty well, too. SR2 was ported by an outside house, IIRC, whereas Darksiders/RF were internally done.
Man every time I see a new Saints Row vid it seems they have something new or interesting to show off. And yes, this video also makes me want to play this a bit more.
The first one was a ton of sandbox fun, despite all the glitches and game crashes. I was really upset when they didn't fix that stuff in the 2nd one. I will pass on this. Don't feel like paying $60 more to this franchise to keep beta testing their titles.
So one of the only vehicles they make a point of showing in their first gameplay demo, is a pre-order bonus. What a bunch of tossers.
