Dark Horse Comics has revealed Valve Presents: The Sacrifice and Other Steam-Powered Stories. According to the listing on Comic Book Resources, the 304-page book contains Left 4 Dead's The Sacrifice comic, along with stories from the worlds of Team Fortress 2 and Portal.
The comic book compilation will launch on November 16 for $29.99. Although there are no further details regarding the Portal and TF2 comics, we'd guess they are Valve's online comics in physical form.

Selling free stuff. Who do they think they are, Valve? Oh, right.

@Marshillboy Lol, they paid for its production and hired some big artists and writters and gave it to you free digitally. But of course nobody is forcing your horrid self to buy it. Maybe vALVE will spend another couple hundred grand it print their next one for free you raving internet moron. Personally I have been waiting for this bad boy and it is a day one buy.

I wasn't happy with the L4D comics. We're told the 4 survivors in each game are exactly that, survivors. They are immune to the virus. Then they pull out the shit in the comics, and
SPOILER
They are carriers, and are actually spreading the virus all around. It's a twist, sure, but it totally turns the look on the game. You go from being a survivor, to one of the people spreading it all over the world. You aren't a survivor anymore, you are a virus carrier making it worse. You are literally an enemy as far as the military goes in the comic.
And as a Valve fan, I have to say Valve has a habit of ridiculously pricing most physical merchandise, or partnering with people who ridiculously price the merchandise.
$40 for a stuffed Boomer? $20 for a hat? $15 for a coffee mug? Some shirts $25? Then you have the licensed TF2 statues, which go for $250 each for the "normal" editions, and even more for the limited editions.
$30 is kind of high for these comics unless they are printed on high-gloss paper, in a hardback.

Actually, 30 bucks is par for the course when it comes to American comics.

Not unless it's a hardback, or an awfully damn thick book.
Now that I think about it, there weren't 304 pages worth of comics online. Rereading the story I see they said "other stories in the universes", so it must be new comics as well. I still think $30 is a bit high.

@Drakkenfyre Price is most likely higher to recoup cost of merchandise being sold to smaller audience. It is a very niche market. Really how many adults are gonna buy plush l4d dolls? Valve shirts? (Me 3x) posters? (Ditto)

I wouldn't expect kids to buy L4D stuff at all.
And it doesn't exuse the ridiculous price their licensees put on merchandise. Granted, they have no direct control over this, but $250 for a 8" statue is laughable.
No, as I said, as a Valve fan, their physical merchandise prices are ridiculous. Always have been. There are sports hats from famous manufacturers who get into that area of pricing. A hat from Valve with the Half-Life 2 logo doesn't need to go for $20-$25.

You know, I feel like Valve is forgetting about something...
For the life of me, I can only half remember what it was.

Not to bash the comic series (which is awesome), but am I the only one who thinks the characters always come out looking weird in the illustrations?
This applies to almost every game-comic, really.

@EliminatorZigma in this case, yes. But understandable. Consider how much work goes into making these characters visually identifiable. (Listen to L4D director's)
