Hmm so its on the new game? Any ideas if they have an instore flyer with this deal I can pick up at gamestop? I might swing by and take it to best buy so I can use my reward zone coupons toward it after I get them to price match.

@darkinchworm You've created an infinite loop from which I cannot escape.

"Now, if only there were something you could put that $25 towards ... oh, wait!" **Click** Child of Eden, other Ubi Kinect games for $30 at GameStop? What news! Considering playing Child of Eden with a controller since that's so cheap and I've been wanting to check it out. Don't really need/can afford a Kinect, heh.

@OrangeGamer
I dunno about that... I mean, the "integration" with Kinect has been so much prased on this one that I suppose I'd just unlock my Rez HD trial and save some bucks to purchase a Kinect and CoE

@TheShaper Perhaps I'm just an old cranky fogey, but the Kinect integration in Child of Eden was an unplayable mess. Its not responsive, its not intuitive, it just plain sucked. But the using controller was alright. Still nowhere near the level of OMGAWESOME that REZ was. I personally am glad I rented CoE, I got more playtime and entertainment out of the $15 XBLA REZ.

Seem so, the Kinect implementation here was beautiful.

@mrmojoz That's what I keep hearing. If this is indeed an example of Kinect motion controls done right, I guess Kinect just isn't for me. :-(

@TheShaper I have nothing against the Kinect, but I don't wanna buy one for one game I want.:X So far, so good with the controller. I am planning on also getting Rez HD in the future, but for now, Bastion.

Question: do you have to play in-game music in order to play this? The reason I am asking is because playing The Timewriter's songs on Eden would be better

@Dance Mofo

what would be the point of the game then? the whole purpose is to dynamically shoot and create music to the games own soundtrack... taking the games music out disembodies 90% of the reason you play this...i mean unless you just want to trip and listen to music that doesnt react to the game whatsoever.

@Dance Mofo

You can do this, however the results are less than stellar. To get a score multiplier, you have to time your shots with the beat of the original song. This is pretty much impossible with a different song playing (at least on Kinect, the controller's force feedback may be enough to do it).

The other point is that all of the levels are designed around the songs that are on the disc. My (one level of) experience with it is that everything is so out of synch that it really breaks the flow of the game. I also didn't make any real attempt to synch it with the music, there could be interesting results with the right songs.

I would recommend renting Child of Eden. I beat in in a day. Playing with a controller is fun (Kinect mode is not), but it's just not worth the money.

Too bad Child of Eden is the only Kinect game I have any interest in. Kinect needs more games or it's going to be Microsoft's version of the Wii.

yeah, as much as I want this game, I think I will try to hold out for $20 or 25... it's just too short!

i guess this means i'll wait for the PS3 version to hit $30. as predicted: this game was a critical success, but a commercial flop. and by staggering the releases between the consoles, any momentum that Ubi might have built up for this game will have greatly dissipated by the time the PS3 version releases. it's kind of a shame, because i was hoping this game would be big, but on the other hand- my wallet is really happy that the price dropped like a stone :)

I actually prefer the kinect over the controller was a lot of fun and really responsive fun game but finished it to quick one of the few games I bought for the kinect and a real surprise too
