If you can't wait for shipping you can go to your local Target store and get the game at the same price. it's on sale this week I'm pretty sure this is just Amazon's way of price matching.

Mortal Kombat and a few other games are also on sale at this price at Target right now. I've got to go there right now to pick up some stuff so I'll update with the other games when I get back.

Joystiq Alert: LA Noire is not a very good game even for $37

Probably my biggest disappointment of the year so far

@ScoobyMaroon

Absolutely agree. I don't know why, but this game just didn't click with me at all.

@ScoobyMaroon Yep. Definitely my biggest disappointment of 2011. I was really amped up for this game, only to be really disappointed.

Joystiq alert: I'll be selling my copy of LA Noire on Amazon as soon as this Amazon sale ends, so I can post it for like $40 or so.

I'm glad I only paid $20 for it. I haven't gotten around to actually playing it yet except just finishing the tutorial missions, but meh, if it sucks, no skin off my nose. I'm still looking forward to playing it when I get a free moment.

It's too bad games just don't have a straight retail pricetag of $40 to begin with.

@ScoobyMaroon 100% agree, however I don't think it was the game's fault - it just isn't my style of gameplay - I think it's mostly the fault of the reviewers that have been hyping it so much.

Personally when I get into a game, I like choosing my path, and it just seems that even if you do everything right, the storyline as to what happens to Cole with his job and life, he ends up going down the same path. I just hate that concept and it bothers me to no end.

@8Complex Lets not play the game of blame the hype.

I'm one of the few who didn't think much of LA Noire prior to release. Hell, I didn't even know much about it. My lack of excitement for it stem primarily from my lack of love for GTA3 and RDR, so I didn't place Rockstar on some type of pedestal.

Despite my lack of expectations, I didn't like LA Noire much either. The main reason why is how extremely repetitive it is -- the whole investigate crime scene, interrogate suspects, search for clues, then capture the criminal shtick was fun at first, and the usage of facial animation is certainly pretty impressive and realistic. Still, I'm sorry, that whole shtick is not fun for 5+ hours.

In addition, I didn't like the story much. To be honest, I'm not even sure what the story is as nothing even happened aside from Cole's promotion until the third disc.

Overall, I seem to be in the small minority. It seems everyone loves RDR and people (or at least Joystiq) seems to love LA Noire too. I can at least understand why folks love RDR, but honestly, LA Noire is beyond me.

Amazon has had it for $40 for weeks, so for regular Amazon shoppers, it's not that much of a discount. Still a great price for a great game though.

Wait, I don't understand this at all. Not only do they annoy people by posting this shit in every single article on Joystiq, but now they have the audacity to flip us off?

AWAY WITH YOU KIND SIR!

Personally, the brisk facial animation was worth the full fare for me. I know I'll spend the time to 100% it, and two of my family members will also play through it, so it will be worth the money.

I want to like LA Noire. I really do. But I just can't help the feeling that if I get a question wrong in an interrogation, then I screwed up the whole mission so then I just quit and go back to the last checkpoint to do it all over again and hopefully get the right answer that time.

So that means I replay tedious sections of the game over and over so I can get it right which doesn't make the game fun for me. Does it really matter if I miss a question or two in an interview? Will it totally screw up the mission and completely change the outcome?

How about you and the rest of your silly gamer comrades go outside and get some fresh air. Games are for kids. Stop living in fairytale land, you zombies.

@fupayme and yet you are obviously going to gaming websites, clicking on game articles, reading said articles and comments and then logging on to a joystiq account that you had to create in order to reply to other members comments? what 'fairytale land' are you living in?

@Ospov I got most of my questions wrong, and it didn't really affect the outcome. I never had to reload a save.

Yeah all video games are for kids. Funny that you have to be 17 or older to buy most of the big-named games that come out now. You know what else is for kids? Name-calling over the internet. Good one.
