Arkham City collector's edition details sneak past the Batman
45
With a new movie and video game finishing development and the recent ego-crushing defeat at the box office by a teenage boy and his stick, Batman must be pretty busy. Busy enough to let listings for the Batman: Arkham City collector's edition be posted, unannounced and without violent yet non-lethal retribution. GameStop and Best Buy both have the collector's edition priced at $99.99, and Best Buy is feeling extra bold with a description of its contents: A "premium" statue made by Kotobukiya, an art book, Gotham Knight animated material and early access to DLC.
The collector's edition is listed for Xbox 360 and PS3, and is set to be released October 18 with the standard edition on both consoles and PC, but only if Batman decides to let this little misunderstanding slide.

While plundering is an officially accepted definition of rape, can we please think of an alternative verb for when something gets taken away? It saddens me that people don't use different words considering the other connotations of rape.

I own a PS3 and I think Uncharted isn't that great in my (unpopular) opinion. The gameplay, music, and controls are all good. However, it tries so hard to be Indiana Jones and fails because Drake has always just come across as a womanizing douche who throws out lame jokes and one-liners in the worst situations. He's a poorly developed and written character which is sad considering the same person who wrote Uncharted also wrote for the Legacy of Kain series. That blows my mind because the quality in Uncharted's writing is nowhere near anything in the LoK series.

the fact that you got downvoted just goes to show that you can't have an opinion anymore. it's a shame, i know.
while i do agree that Uncharted is a bit overrated, i disagree with your statement that it tries too hard to be like Indiana Jones. i believe there's a difference between pure imitation and wearing your influences on your sleeve. while the Uncharted series is certainly influenced by Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider, it's not a straight-up, shameless rip-off of those franchises. it still has enough unique elements to make it worthwhile, in my opinion. besides, given how terrible the last Indiana Jones movie was, i'm not so sure that's one influence that is really worth bragging about anymore.

Yeah, I'm still bitter about that one. It almost made me never want to get a collector's edition ever again.

I'm just curious, what do you people do with your CE's goodies? Like, do you have a cabinet to show off your statues? Do you let your kids play with them? Do you keep them stored somewhere for posterity?
Aside from soundtracks, comics, art books, and character/map DLCs, I never understood the appeal of other CE items, like statues, Harlequin jack-in-the-box, coins, etc...

A lot of them just get left on the shelf in dust, at least parts of them, but ones that come with cool statues or collectible stuff I put in someplace with my full action figure and statue collection.

depends what it is, and how good the quality is. If its a statue like in infamous 2 or assassins creed 2 ill keep it on display somewhere. But if its junk like the dead space 2 plasma cutter, or really cheap looking action figues, ill either just throw it out, or just not even buy the CE.

@FlashJS The last CE I purchased was Final Fantasy XII, which I got for ten dollars less than the standard edition. Prior to that, it was either Lunar: Eternal Blue Complete or Arc the Lad Collection. Back in the 90s I was all about the extra stuff... Now all I want are sub-$50 games.

I'm guessing most people are only interested in about a third of that list, but regardless of which third, its a good group of games.

Sweet. Guess I'm starting a Special Edition statue collection. It started with Cole MacGrath, next will be Nathan Drake and the Goddam Batman.

My one and only is the Slimer statue because that edition was on sale on Amazon for $25 in Winter of 2009, but if this statue is good, it may have company.

I already have a beautiful kotobukiya statue featuring batman & catwoman. I'm a statue collector (mostly batman stuff). That said, I managed to preorder the regular edition during E3 at bestbuy for $49.99 + $10 in bonus points, so I'd rather keep that and use the $50 saved on a batman black & white statue of my choosing. I avoided the awful batarang as well.
