8 headlining games chosen for Indie Games Summer Uprising

Much like the outdoor temperature, the Indie Games Summer Uprising is heating up. Eight of the promotion's headlining titles, as chosen by Indie Game developers, have been revealed. The titles run the gamut of fighting, platforming, role-playing and train simulator (no really!) games.

This August, voting will begin for two more titles to be chosen by the community itself. Voting will start on Monday, August 1, and will run until August 14 on the Indie Games Summer Uprising Facebook page. The Summer Uprising 8 developer selections have been chosen!

On Sunday July 17th, the final votes for the 8 developer selections for the Indie Games Summer Uprising finally arrived, and with that we gladly announce those who will headline the promotion:

T.E.C. 3001
Speedrunner HD
Raventhorne
Take Arms
Train Frontier Express
Cute Things Dying Violently
Doom and Destiny
Battle High: San Bruno

Community is requested! From Monday, August 1st – Sunday August 14th, fans will have the opportunity to choose two (2) titles that they would like to see as part of the promotion on any of the remaining candidates from the IGSU entries page. Voting will take place on the IGSU Facebook page. Winners will be announced during the #IGSU Twitter chat.

The #IGSU Twitter Chat will be held on Tuesday Aug 16th – 9PM EST, and the gaming community will have the ability to speak directly with the developers, organizers, and journalists in a roundtable style chat. As mentioned before, the two winners from the fan vote will be announced at this time as well.

Indie Games Uprising Summer Schedule:
August 1st – August 15th: Community voting for 2 additional titles they would most like to play
Tues Aug 16th – 9PM EST: IGSU Developer Twitter chat, community winners announced
August 22nd – September 2nd: Promotion and release of 8 developer and 2 community voted titles

Fez was always a full XBLA title.

Fez is going to be a full-blown XBLA game, last I checked, and will have some actual support from Microsoft. The uprising is a campaign for the Xbox Live *Indie* Games, who are otherwise just tossed into a big pile outside the XBLA. So they're trying to promote themselves, and cross-promote each-other with this campaign.

You know, to make people aware there's something in the ex-blig besides Memory clones with anime girls in bathing suits, and "utilities" to make your controller vibrate on command.

The winner should get an upgrade to XBLA, then it might actually sell.

I liked TEC 3001, Speedrunner, and Cute things the best. Some really cool stuff out there. There are some many people far more talented than I am.

Oh, cool! I've always been a sucker for indie games, and admired the fact that Microsoft gave a place for them on consoles. I'll definitely be checking this out.

Also, who says there's a lack of good train sims, huh!?

Train Frontier Express looks fantastic.

@Fire Walk With Me It looks fantastic and even the gameplay is awesome. Sure, it does have some hickups right now, but the Dev is lookin' into it. :)

It's just like A-Train HX without the sim - just pure childhood memories while placing tracks, houeses, streets and trees. A tunnel is still missing in that first Build but I bet there will be some kind of a system in the final build.

TEC 3001 looks like an awesome one.

SpeedRunner and T.E.C. 3001 are the best out of the lot.

I've played Save Me Knight last knight and loved it. I don't it doesn't have enough meat in its bones to become a full XBLA game, but I'm sad that's it's not there is some way.
