Actually, it's an Assassin's Creed turn-based JRPG.

No word on an North American release, though...

I have bought every one on the 360 and some on PC but they are just cranking these games out and it may be losing some of it's charm. And yet still Brotherhood was a ton of fun so what else can I say.

Seeing as how Ubisoft has turned Assassin's Creed into a yearly franchise, I'm sure they'll have yet another game next holiday when the Wii U launches.

It also won't be AC 3 because Ubisoft is going to wait until they completely saturate the franchise before they "finish the "trilogy"".

Too bad the original pioneers in the AC franchise, Jade Raymond and Patrice Desillets are gone. I think they had a distinct vision for the future of AC, and I hope that hasn't been lost...

Revelations is the end of the Ezio saga, but I hope this isn't another spinoff of the character. Loved him in II, but he's overstayed his welcome, I think. This could be a game on early 20th Century Russian assassin Nikolai Orelov, from The Fall comics. He's just too good of a character to let go to waste. If not him, then I want to sidewinded by a surprise era. But it's only a matter of time before we enter the near-future assassin that Desmond's been training to be.

That would completely change the gameplay of the series into a completely different game. AC1 and AC2/Brotherhood are largely the same type of the game with the same basic gameplay. Jumping to 20th century Russia would change things too dramatically. Everyone would just have guns. I doubt they'd do that. They'll probably just go to feudal Japan or something.

Just imagine: Chibi Ezio an Altair riding on carriages throwing little smoke bombs at each other. And if you run over three power ups, you unlock Eagle Vision which allows you to see those booby traps set by the nasty Cesare.
Oh yeah. Can't wait.

I know that the AC series gets a lot of praise (barely started on the 1st game myself). I'm thinking now that its becoming a yearly franchise, its going to get the same disdain as COD. Shame....

But all the games have improved from iteration to iteration. Plus it's more of a serialized story with a central plot that is growing and continuing. I'm okay with getting more of the story each year.

The worst part is you can already start to see the hate forming, just from seeing how a game has come out each year.

And yet everyone acknowledges that each game has gotten progressively better with each iteration, and revelations could very well continue that trend.

Oh, and for all we know, this might be the last AC to come out after one year, since Ubisoft IS basically reusing old assets to make their new games. It's obviously a lot easier to "improve" what you've already got than it is to usually start from the basics.

People are pretty stupid at times though.

First off: you cannot even begin to compare COD to AC, just because of yearly updates. Last time I checked, people enjoyed every Assassin's Creed game on consoles. And they've kept getting better. Brotherhood was amazing. And so far, there are only two that are in existence that are part of the whole yearly thing. And only one is out. They've all obviously got better from their predecessor, so why do you think they're "milking the franchise" only solely based on the fact that it comes out each year?

Fun fact:
Gap between AC's
AC 1-2 two years.
AC 2-Brotherhood one year
Brotherhood-Revelations one year

Once they change stories on which assassin it is, there's a bigger gap. Let them finish Ezio's story and then their will be a bigger gap for a new assassin.

/end rant

You're forgetting all the handheld entries. There was one on the DS, one or two on the PSP, and even one for mobile phones I think.

Most people didn't play them, they had very different gameplay, and they were done by different studios. They haven't affected the potential saturation at all. They honestly don't count.

They obviously want to use the shuriken thrower, like in the tech demo, so the AC for the Wii U is going to be a side story set in Japan. Assassin's Creed : Rise of the Iga Clan.

If it's not Revelations, it's probably just Assassin's Creed III or a remake of an older game. I highly doubt Ubisoft is going to sink money into an exclusive, original Assassin's Creed game if the system's hardware is basically the same as the 360 and PS3, two systems with far, far larger active installed bases than the Wii U will have for a long time, if ever.

To be honest, I don't think they know how to make an AC3, and are trying to saturate it to avoid making.
Guns for one, would just turn it into a 3rd person shooter, No use for blades anymore.
And assuming its an NY type city, manhattan with it's skyscrappers would become useless to try and climb.
