Atlus unboxes Catherine 'Love is Over' deluxe edition

Depending on how interested you are in something, unboxing videos can either be incredibly exciting or the most boring things you've ever seen. Catherine's "Love is Over" deluxe edition may be a different story, however, on account of the underwear and pizza boxes.

@Measlesopolis Me too...I'll buy for no more than $35......I really liked the demo, but I don't see myself spending $60 on it.

Eh, personal preference.
These are the only kinds of games I look for though, so it's an easy decision for me.
I could care less about gameplay as long as there's an interesting story within. And as I've heard this does have one.
All games I've been getting lately don't have any lasting impact on me, hardly any hours of game time (though, it may have been fun for that short moment), and just... eh I still justified the price!
What games does everyone buy for $60?
Multiplayer bores me, unless it's more MMO style.
Super Action gameplay bores me if it has just that. (GoW... *sigh*)
I think I've been waiting for this really.
Don't know what everyone is expecting from this game, but it seems exactly like all the other games coming out for $60, perhaps better, though, it's content is more in story rather.

I will probably wait till it gets a price cut too. Great game and I like something different, but very few games are worth full price in my opinion.
And joystiq, can you PLEASE bring back the faded downvoted comments? Those spam comments are taking over the site lately!

Don't down vote those spam comments...."report" [ ! ] them so that they may be removed.
On topic... I think this game will follow suit like most niche JRPGS and keep its high price tag for a very long time (once Amazon is sold out)

Not a fan of clothing as extras. You can usually never wear them outside your home due to either (a) the clothing not being the correct size or (b) the designs on the shirts being ugly.

@henhowc I Agree about the size, but I always wear all my preorder clothes

I already have the deluxe on preorder but the $79.99 price is killing me hopefully a slight price drop before release (crosses fingers).

All these comments be semi-hatin'. Sure, it's not Call of Duty (for those above) but there's 3 reasons I'm buying this.
1. Atlus game. (This before every other reason.)
2. The demo was fun and this game is so unlike the rest of the games that developers are making. It's a cut away from the normal and it's an Atlus game. I must have it.
3. BOOBIES!!!

This is the most original retail (i.e., not downloadable or indie) game that I have seen come out in a very long time.
I'd feel guilty for not buying this, and yet buying Halo again this year.

this game is for autistic anime loving idiots who honestly think this is a "mature" game when infact it deals with ideas of sex and romance with the understanding a psychopath trying to figure out emotions
terrible terrible writing and dialogue and the core gameplay isnt good either

The fact that you use autism to degrade someone shows that you are an immature person. Using a syndrome that isn't preventable and is on the rise to degrade someone else and try to make yourself seem superior shows that you are the king/queen of douche and pricking land. You must have what is called Call Of Duty Syndrome. It raises doucheness to unprecedented levels from prolonged exposure to a yearly rehash of the same game for the past 4 years.

Am I going to need protection before I put this game in - my console?
Prophylactics or whatever might work on Freddy Kruger? Sheep shears?

I am going to watch the price for this special edition on Amazon, because I've been noticing big price drops on special editions there lately, weeks sometimes months after release....

Is there a "censored boxart" version of the Love is Over edition? That was a little too revealing for me.

I made this point a while ago, but got called-out as some kind of anti-green activist who clutches game boxes too hard or something.
In reality, my complaint against them is actually far more left-leaving: it's one of those blatant moves for large companies to downsize costs under the banner of "eco-friendly", the likes of them turning down/off the AC in their facilities. But not for the people in upper management, of course! What do you think they are, savages?

Damn, not sure if I want the full deluxe. I know I will not be able to wear that shirt or boxers, pillow case is ok but not worth $20 extra. I already have it preordered though, might just buy the standard since every copy comes with the CD and Artbook.
Posted: Jul 19th 2011 2:27AM onan said
@GiantGamer Obviously you want to be environmentally friendly. Studies show that people who purchase special editions for an extra $20 immediately throw away everything but the game DVD. Those special editions are just overflowing landfills so every little bit helps.

This is a day one purchase for me, I have the normal edition on pre-order. I am actually happy I didn't pre-order the limited edition, doesn't look like it's worth it. I was expecting the pizza box to be better quality etc... I am already satisfied with getting the free art book and soundtrack. Can't wait to play it through.

After getting burned by the Batman: AA edition, I'm a little bit wary of these things.
Demon's Souls CE has been the only one of recent memory that was worth every penny.

Second that one after I bought the God of War 3 one, I felt really ripped off. I thought the Pandora Box was ceramic, not plastic. And the other extras were all download content, no physical media. I think it's real pathetic how some CE games are. Another good limited edition was the Fallout 3 one.
