@phinn I'm going to have to disagree with you there, this update is in preparation for the fall update, which will change the dashboard as well as adding new features. This makes perfect sense to me to guarantee a smooth release come fall.
However Sony's updates are nearly always inconsequential and rarely followed by new features. I find them annoying. At least with MS you know exactly why they are releasing an update, either a new feature or there soon will be, unlike Sony.

@Zal They always do this, it is updating all of the server software to be compatible with the new update, they do it every summer before the major fall update to make sure it will all run smoothly in the upcoming months as hundreds upon thousands start beta testing it.

Because of an update that adds no immediate features? Right. Unless the future update gives u dedicated servers on first party games, more than two AAA exclusives a year, and a blu ray drive I think your still playing second fiddle, paying for nothing.

As a PC user, I prefer to get a changelog for updates. Even if it won't affect me, I would feel better if I knew exactly what I'm installing.
