Too bad Brink was a giant let down.

@Lectre

It's not that bad of a game. I have some fun every time I start it up. Though it has some faults, but that's pretty much every game.

@Mastadon Yeah, Brink is fun as hell to play.

It does have its faults, glaring would be the current lack of lobbies and sub-par matchmaking, but if you head over to the Splash Damage forums, you can find a lot of other PS3 players, and we've come up with a text-chat-room workaround that makes it easy to get into games with other humans.

That said, I got the Plat about two weeks after it was released, and I still play it regularly (my current go-to MP FPS), which is saying something for a trophy whore.

If you play to be the star, go Bad Company. If you want to play as a team, go Brink.

BC2 BC2 BC2 BC2 BC2!!!

I can't tell you how many fun moments I've had in that game.

Although it really depends on what you want. Brink is more arcadey, while BC2 is slightly more on the sim side (especially with hardcore mode on). From my experiences, when people actually work as a team in BC2, there is no other online shooter that can top it, unfortunately that doesn't happen all that often if you don't play with friends.

Oh, and BC2 servers are still going strong (at least on PC), where as I can't see Brink being all that populated with all the hate it's received.

only 2 months too late. I was excited about this game for 2 years. Biggest letdown. Wouldn't have been so bad if it didn't play like TF2 with nerf guns (TF2 is good, nerf guns aren't).

@Rakeesh

I would disagree, more like the other way around

And i have played both although only a couple of hours of brink.

@psnshe69mee

I borrowed Brink from a friend and tried it out. He didn't like it and thought I would because it was more of a MP game. I played the campaign, which included a "tutorial" mission, and I had no idea what the f*ck was going on. You just start "capturing" areas against bots after some confusing story sets up why you are capturing areas in the first place. So stupid. I didn't even finish that one game before I shut if off and gave it back to my friend. He was pissed that he wasted $60 on it. I told him he was stupid for just going out and spending $60 on a game without having any idea what it was or how it was reviewed.

I found Brink to be an absolute bore to play. I would go with BC2 by a long shot. Brink just felt like a chore to play honestly.

Hell is up with the spam comments? I mean Brink wasn't that bad that spam bots need to attack related news.

So is it actually worth actually firing up and giving another shot...or is it still complete and utter garbage? Honest question.

@Tyran

a statistical analysis of gameplay does not make the gameplay any better. Still utter crap.

@MEMgrizzlies7 The game is actually really fun! Flawed, but fun! That being said, SD really messed up by constantly moving the free DLC date around. "Sometime in June!"..."Late June, we promise!"..."Early July, really!"

Yo, dawg, we heard you liked checking people's Steam ID's so now...

Players can verify people's Steam identities so they can verify people's Steam IDs

Ahahaha, who's doing is this?

Brink is by far my biggest let down to date! Too little, too late. Remember when games didn't get patches? I miss those days.

I'm glad to see SplashDamage is supporting this title with the updates it deserves. It's a solid game, with continued polish and DLC it could be great. I'll have to load this one back up when I get home tonight and give it another go.

I have Brink on the 360 and have been playing since day 1. Used to spend most of my days playing BFBC2 and BlackOps. Now, I can't play anything but Brink. I love the teamwork aspect and the "SMART" parkour movement stuff. Really looking forward to the DLC and tweaks. Should drop any day now.

There's a good Brink population on the 360, but the PC and PS3 pop is hurting. PC's hurting b/c they hate that the game plays like a console game and the PS3's hurting because PSN was having those online issues when Brink was released.

The official Splash Damage Brink board is at:
