I have a Earforce similar to the FOXTROT. It's a good set except the cloth on the ear cushions keep coming off. I think I paid $60 as an Amazon deal of the day.

I've got the PX5's that these were made from and I absolutely love them. I've already caught myself physically look left because I heard a sound that seemed far away.

I've had 3 pairs of headphones, X31's, the Tritton AX Pro's and now the PX5's which are easily my favorite. One of these days I'll end up trying the A40's.

Pretty off-topic: I hear these getting praise all the time, but I'm really not in the market for an all-in-one audio solution. I like my sound system, and usually play with other people locally while online. What I'd like is a headset that's voice-chat only (single earpiece/speaker/headphone, no game audio), that has excellent sound and microphone quality. Does such a thing exist?

My wireless and wired Microsoft headsets sound like a tin can, and my Sony official one is so sensitive that it even picks up button presses so I have to mute the game audio.

@Epoque

If you're on PS3, you can go to audio device settings, and adjust it so that the input device (chat) is only available, and the output device (game audio) comes out through the TV or sound system, etc. Just set it to system default device.

These look really but way to expensive for my taste, anyone know a cheap ($150 or less) pair of surround sound headphones?

@pally321 I recently got the Turtle Beach Ear Force DPX 21. It has 5.1/7.1 Digital surround sound woth Dolby Digital Pro Logic IIx. It's compatible with PS3, 360 and PC right out of the box! The only down side is that it's not wireless. But honestly, the cord is plenty long enough(about 12ft.!!). And I personally don't need one more wireless signal floating around my house!!! :-) Anyway, best one I found for the price, it was $135 when I got it. It was on sale, and the original price was $149. But that was 6 months ago, so I'm pretty sure you can get it a little cheaper now. Great set, I've had NO problems with it(unlike the Tritton AX 180's that COMPLETELY fell apart on me after only 4 months!!!). Oh, and they do take digital optical audio straight to the box! It sounds AESOME when I plug the PS3 straight into 'em for gaming or watching movies! Hope that helps!

A px5, A px3, and others, The delta's a total ripoff, the one underneath it is the same price as the PX3, so that one has the best value imo

Who cares ? Really ?

Mass marketed rubbish like this , is killing gaming invention , why make something new , when 10 million people blindly follow every episode , no matter if its the same or not !

If you buy this you're partly responsible for the death of gaming !

I bought the PX5's not too long ago, and they're great! One of the features of the PX5's though, was that you can download custom game presets, even one's that game developers uploaded to the site for certain games, example: Dead Space.

Now that these sets are coming with MW3 presets.... I'm wondering. For my PX5's am I going to be able to download this MW3 custom preset? Or am I going to have to buy one of these to get that? I think it would be total BS if you cant download this preset, since game developers are going to make custom presets, don't put each game presets in a newer headset...

@(Unverified) I have confirmation that the presets will be available for us with the px5( I'm in the same situation as you) Alex ryan's response is as follows.....
"...the presets will be available for you to download into your PX5 by  using the advanced sound editor. You don't have to return anything, you just have to be patient.

Thanks,
Alex

Hey Alex, I JUST got my turtle beach px5 and would appreciate not having to return it for the mw3 turtle beach headsets. I'm interest in the audio presets designed specifically for mw3...will they be available for the px5 or only for the mw3 headsets? Thanks you can redirect me to a different department to aswer the question If needed.

And by "custom audio presets", hopefully they mean "automatically configured to mute ornery children".
