Haha ha what.

Super Meat Boy is the most cliched platform jumper game on the market.
Braid wasn't the first time controlled game.
Fez is a copy of some obscure Commodore 64 game that featured rotating levels around to jump to the exit. It's also a copy of Crush, an old game for the Sony PSP.

If you think they're "something different" then it shows you have a *catastrophic* lack of game experience.

Super Meat Boy took a combination of Capcom/Ninja Gaiden levels of difficulty and stuck them on what is seemingly standard platformer stage design, see any type of contradiction there?
With Braid it wasn't simply "hurr durr tyme cont0l". It was a lot more then that, like how it used time controlling elements in so many different ways and the subtle story going on in the background without the need of cutscenes but text and images in the form of puzzle pieces. Also DAT ENDING.
He never mentioned Fez?

Just nipping that one in the bud, seeing its one of those games everyone else is looking forward to.

Fact is all games, indie or not, can be clearly traced to other games. To say there's originality in games is a big fat f*****g lie.

And why was my post downvoted? Truth is downvoted whilst lies are upvoted? Most interesting. I'll have to remember that.

He's with XBLA now? Interesting...

Contrary to popular belief, FF4 was not translated by Ted Woolsey. It was translated by someone in Square who knew a good bit of English (but, apparently not enough), whereas Woolsey did the translation for FF6. So, it would be more accurate to refer to him as Ted "Son of a Submariner" Woolsey.

as someone who appreciates games a bit off center, as an outlet for original works, XBLA is fantastic. my anticipation for select arcade titles, exceeds many major releases.

the pixeljunk games are awesome and the only thing XBLA is really missing.

sure wish we knew (within a quarter) when FEZ is coming out.

Oh that's easy, it takes a major publisher and a slot that that publisher has "earned", otherwise you can't get even get on. Don't let that make you forget that the XBLA marketplace is a complete tragedy to even get through. If you are everyday joe who doesn't go to gaming blogs and know what's coming out already, unless its one or two games Microsoft thinks you should buy there is no way you'll even know about it.

Forget about arcade games they need to make Indie games better and easier to browse, raise their quality standard and make Indie games playable offline like the arcade games, that's why I haven't purchased any even though most are only a dollar.

Remember when Xbox Live Arcade was supposed to be an area for smaller indie developers to get their games published on a game console?

And how, nowadays, so many developers are trying to get XBLA games made, you need to be attached to a big name publisher, completely defeating the purpose?

And how Microsoft seems to be trying to bury the "Xbox Indies" section of the dashboard under corporations who can afford to spend millions of dollars on advertising they don't need?

And how they've been saying "We're going to make the Marketplace less confusing" for every single dashboard update they've EVER RELEASED, and NEVER ACTUALLY HAVE?
