Retail, huh? This doesn't exactly scream "retail" to me. Keep fighting that inevitable ascendance of the digital marketplace, Nintendo.

Now that we have 3-4 ISPs to choose everywhere and no data caps, it's definitely time for Digital Distribution to shine!

Oh right, that isn't the case for many, many people.

I think it has more to do with Nintendo thinking they'd get more sales from a POKEMON game in retail rather than DD. It's also a portable pokemon game (kids seem to like to take their pokemon with them and probably have purchasing power offline with less reliance on their parents) and when its predecessor was on Wiiware you are really reaching for something to pull that line out of your butt.

It's still true, to a degree. But you were looking for any excuse to whine about it. Good for you!

You've got to think of the target group for this. I don't think most kids deal with the digital download space.

I dunno, have you played Black or White? Replacing the Pokewalker with that insanely complicated online Dream World crap proves that they're still putting a lot of faith into the net-saavy youngsters, which leads the cynic in me to believe that this is just an excuse to charge $40 for a game because it carries the Pokemon name.

Parents prefer buying retail. Sure the kids might understand the stuff, which makes the dream world work well as a game feature, but without a retail game a lot of the parents wont be buying it for their kids.

I played the wiiware demo and actually had some fun with it, but it doesn't seem like it would last. Does it?

If they ever do make a Pokemon MMORPG, I hope they don't make it WoW style...

@foxhound

only a person who plays WoW would ever want a WoW style pokemon game... how about a Pokemon style Pokemon game. Open world and all.

I should have clarified... open world, 3D/third person, MMORPG with the "popularity" of WoW. Apologies.

I played this game for a few hours. It's really not bad at all, and expanding on it would get me to buy it. It's nice to play a good Pokemon game that isn't Ranger or Mystery Dungeon.

Huh, I never even thought abou a cell-shaded pokemon game.

It doesn't look half bad from those pictures either.

I would like this game better if there weren't any black and white Pokemon in it I heard you get used to the new pokemon but since I didn't buy black and white I haven't got used to them yet.

The game is mostly about getting 3 friends together and treking through the stages. Enemies get harder depending on how many players there are
