While you compute this complex equation, check out the game's latest trailer posted above. Yes, it's all pre-rendered CGI, but it does a great job of giving you a brief introduction to the game's gun-toting counterfeits.

The problem with the internet is that im not sure if your taking the mickey or not. The "..." at the end of your statement could indicate sarcasm but it could also mean your sick of pointing out the 'obvious'
Either way this stuff makes for interesting reading

@skeldare Agreed. I think.
Though, the way I'd say it is: this looks like a game where you can play crazy irresponsible psycho A or crazy irresponsible psycho B. neither of which is Batman.
The joy of batman is that he's a vigilante which everyone tolerates, because he does so much good. because of his strong moral code.
Batman imitators without the moral code are disturbing/pointless. Not something I want to roleplay. This game looks like another "it's hip to thrill kill" hollow exercise in pointless.

Batman has used a gun plenty of times.
I believe he's used a gun once or twice .. maybe more in the detective series..
And he uses guns in the odyssey series. You would know this if you actually read comic books and were a true Batman fan.

But this is called GOTHAM CITY IMPOSTORS.. IMPOSTORS..
I believe you should go check out a definition for this before you actually go saying "These most certainly are not Batman. He'd never use a gun... "

I like the fact that they are taking a more humorous route, that decision alone has me interested. A funny Batman game without Batman, its an interesting pitch for sure

i played this at E3 and while it was ok, it's basically a weaker Shadowrun with the Batman license. which doesn't make it bad, but it definitely didn't feel like anything special.

Looks like your basic Heroes v. Villians multiplayer team-deathmatch style games, but with a Batman theme. I wonder how it will compare to Uncharted 3, which is showing real polish in that category.

Every second of the trailer just reminded me of TF2. What's up with all these TF2 ripoffs?
Posted: Jul 20th 2011 7:12PM Ospov said
@Riusaki
I didn't really get that from the trailer. Not every class based shooter or shooter with a goofy art style is a TF2 ripoff. I love TF2 as much as the next guy, but I'm getting a little tired of hearing the same old thing for nearly every other shooter.
If it's realistic, it's a Call of Duty rip-off.
If it's sci-fi, it's a Halo rip-off.
If it's class based, it's a Team Fortress 2 rip-off.
Sometimes it's a legitimate argument, but the game's not even out yet and there was no gameplay in the trailer. I'm going to wait until I see more on the game before I pass judgment.

I thought the trailer looked like a Shadowrun-esque experience (the 360 version).
Only without all the magic and just a bunch more gadgets instead. But maybe that's just me. Cause it had the big guy gliding around and then there was a bunch of skinnier guy skating around.
It's not a rip-off of TF2 by any means because class based shooter had been around for decades before TF2 ever released.
Not everything is a rip-off of something else.

Well you didn't mention the Source engine and most people wouldn't have guessed that's what you meant. But I rewatched the trailer and I can kind of see where you're coming from at a few parts with some lighting and scenery. I don't think it looks too similar though. The character models just look too different and there are quite a few other things that look like it would be a different engine.

Fifteen dollars.
For a downloadable Batman game.
Where you shoot people.
And doesn't have Batman.
This must be a tie-in for the new Batman movie coming out next year, "The Expendables 2."
Hopefully, Monolith will follow this up with a Green Lantern game.
Without Green Lantern.
But you race unicorns.
In a jungle.
And play rhythm mini-games between races.

I think you sort of shot yourself in the foot at the end there because Green Lantern's Rainforest Unicorn Racing Bongo Challenge actually sounds pretty badass.

If executed well this could be really cool game and I'm not a FPS multiplayer type of guy. Which is probably the very reason this game is being made to help bridge the gap between FPS "Call of Duty players" and Batman AC type players. As long as I get to wear some *gravely voice* HOCKEY PADS with a bat symbol on it I might give it a try.

This game looks like APB. in the bad way.
ie., it is just offering two flavors of psycho killer.
I'd rather play someone with a strong moral code. (like : a cop. who goes around arresting these wild children in masks before they shoot up too much of the neighborhood).

Saw this at E3.
Thought it was going to be ~stupid~ based on premise alone.
Played it; loved it. The gameplay is more unique than has been shown thus far, and you can see the designer team's sense of humor and passion echoed through the product, from the loading screens to the costumes to the awesome new gadgets and abilities.
At $15 this is a steal, and I can't wait for it.
