@Poor Tom

Mad Catz acquired Tritton a while back, like a year or two ago. Mad Catz maintained all of the Tritton staff and they have maintained their build quality for their headsets. The fact they are owned by a company that does make a lot of shitty peripherals does not impact the products that Tritton has been making.

IMO, of course.

I really want one of these but I refuse to pay the money they want for them. Ideally they could have released an affordable customised Gears of War headset and I'd be happy with one of those.

@XD SGT CHAOS XD

I have a pair of 7.1 Turtle Beaches for my 360 that work great. They plug right into the high optical output on the back of my 360 S. Now, hardly any games on any system support 7.1, but the 360 S is perfectly capable of 7.1 if the game supports it. =)

Pretty sure it only supports 5.1 sound. 7.1 sound should be accomplished through mixers adding in the extra 2 speakers... not that you would notice on a pair of headphones anyways.

Yeah, I thought the same thing, Seeing as with comparisons of games the 360 has so little sound options compared to PS3 versions of games. But im sure it can do it if the game allows.

I actually have the regular white Trittons that are pictured on the right side... best $130 I have ever spent on any piece of video game equipment. It has lasted FOREVER!!

This falls into the Gears 3 Xbox category for me (i.e: I really want it, but I already just bought a new xbox and I already have that headset)

GOW branded Warhead headset? I can dig it. But instead of making these announcements how about you give us a firm date and price for the stock Xbox 360 branded Warhead headset?

@Anticrawl

Oh I see what they are doing. Rebranding the old Tritton's to launch with GOW so they can clear stock before releasing the Xbox 360 branded headsets later in the fall/winter.

This is wonderful news for my friend. He has a Gears of War Xbox 360 skin, a Gears of War controller, a Gears of War backpack, and now he'll have a Gears of War headset!

If they're anything like the headsets the COGs themselves use then you're gonna have to stop whatever you're doing and put two fingers on your ears to talk.

I prefer Astro Gaming headsets to anything else on the market. The throat communicator sounds HORRIBLE and the ear piece is super uncomfortable. As for the others, they get cumbersome when being worn for too long, also the bass is too high for competitive gaming.

No, 7.1 is NOT possible thru the 360 - only 5.1. The headset would simply fake it, and most likely its faked 7.1 anyway, though not sure yet.
