Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 lands in November; adds Strider, Ghost Rider [update: characters leaked]

We realize it's kind of rare for Capcom to release an updated version of one of its fighting games, but try to bear with us. The publisher has announced Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which adds a number of improvements to the original. First and foremost, of course, is a load of new characters, twelve in all.

The press release mentions Capcom's Strider and Firebrand from Ghosts & Goblins (this guy). Entering the Marvel camp are Ghost Rider and Hawkeye. We're sure that the others will be slowly and methodically revealed over the next few months.

Ultimate MvC3 will also have eight new stages, a spectator mode and unnamed balance tweaks. The game is set to be released this November at a "mid range price" on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Trade? I already sold mine. Where there's smoke, there's fire. As soon as I saw that game had no spectator mode on battles, I got rid of it like the plague.

Yeah guys, my godson really likes this game, will probably buying it more for him than for me, that's all he usually plays anyway. Sigh....ever since, Street Fighter IV, I have been a hoarding whore. Damn I really hate myself.....

Capcom, you need to stop releasing half-finished games and then expecting us to pony up more money for the "enhanced" version later. You lost me when you put out a game with about 5 stages and never followed up on DLC. I traded MvC3 in for Mortal Kombat and never looked back.

Your statement would be valid it capcom didn't release 3 versions of nearly every iteration of their games since they started releasing games. This is far from new practice for capcom.

But IMO you can only buy so much of the same thing over and over again, and companies like Capcom releasing new added features while putting glitches and bugs on the backburner just isn't something I'm going to support anymore.

@Once known as Shadsy I was pondering MvC3 but decided to get Mortal Kombat instead. My god am I glad I did, I still have my supported MK game while MvC3 would have been worthy of the garbage bin with Capcom asking me for money to get the ULTIMATE edition.

Same here, along with Ghost Rider(what's with his voice for the chain lashing attack though?).

As for Frank West, I'd gladly welcome him back after playing TATSUNOKO vs CAPCOM again last weekend. I'd still like to see Jin Saotome, Guile/Charlie(whichever), Bulleta aka BB Hood, Jin Saotome, Carnage, Gambit, and perhaps even White Queen/Emma Frost.

Sigh... so instead of Mega Man Legends 3, we get this?

Yeah, it's too bad. Ghost Rider is one of my favorites. I'll pick it up used a couple years after its release date, unless MML3 gets released first.

You know what Capcom? I'm not convinced you didn't have these characters sitting around on some hard drive somewhere for a few months, and given your recent behavior, I'd be even less surprised to find out that you had more characters hidden on the new disc. So...yeah, no sale, thanks.

@Vuvuzelas That is a Mega Man Legends stage. A SECOND Mega Man Legends stage in a game that only has one character from the series. This is worse than Sega putting Beat in that racing game.

The only way I'm buying this is DLC. Otherwise, I'll wait for Super Ultimate Mavel vs Capcom 3: Turbo HD Remix Arcade Edition.

I will wait a couple of months to see if they have another version coming out for this game .
