Hmmm... maybe Activision should change their mind about COD: Elite because "comparable services for comparable prices" doesn't apply when other companies are doing it for FREE!!!

First Bungie.net and now Battlelog. They even had a stat tracker for World At War and that was free. What happened there Activision?

@Aesir Renegade Most of Elite is free. Stop being a dumbass and actually read up on it.

You just illustrated the entire internet, not just Call of Duty players. If you really think that what you described is exclusively in Call of Duty, you're a bit naive.

BluntSmoka6969 is an upstanding gentleman and I will not stand for this libel! He's smoka'd far too many blunts to be racist or foulmouthed. And he breathes through a squeaky tube, so I can forgive that mistake, but he's more of a rattly baritone.

oh really? will it let me see, for each and every game, how many kills, deaths, and headshots i had with respect to each weapon and all the medals i got (+ that for each player)? does it have a game viewer with several views of the level, that lets you see each kill (killer, death, weapon used, locations)? does it let you filter that based on player, and time range during the match?

http://www.bungie.net/stats/reach/gamestats.aspx?gameid=691158065&player=maveric101

i could list more too.

Gee, I wonder why? Maybe it's because they aren't in charge of CoD stats.

Looks like they took the Facebook or Google+ code and slapped the Battlefield into it. Not bad looking though, prefer a simple look then a bunch of colours flying around everywhere.

Hopefully, DICE and EA implement this correctly.

A "Steam-like" overlay would be very nice and simple way into getting the stats between loading screens, re-spawns, or when you are "afk".

If it is fully browser-based, (I hope not), then you could still use the internet browser overlay and do the same thing but less simple.

I don't know how the consoles will do it tho... Menu screen?

I know how to access Battlelog in an overlay, at least how EA want it:

Origin.

Man, I'm not a FPS fan but damn, this game is looking good. I like this BattleLog system. It's fun looking at your stats. This and Gears 3 will keep me busy for a very long time.

@Rubbishy Me

it certainly got me to spend more time on the game than i would have otherwise. i'm a pretty competitive person, so when autolog tells me that one of my friends has beaten my time, i'll do as many runs as it takes to top them. the notification system for it is pretty simple/easy, as well.

Does it serve any purpose if you don't have any friends with the game?

@Rubbishy Me Plus it has a pretty nifty iOS app that you can use to keep track of your friends that beat your times. Definitely made me look forward to playing while viewing at work.

I appreciate them adding stuff like this, and even making it supposedly free...

but do people actually look at this stuff beyond maybe day 1 or 2?

I looked at the Black Ops stuff once or twice, but then I just went back to killing people. Don't really need fancy heatmap layouts showing where I died, or how accurate I am when jumping through a window screaming.

Just play the game?
