Crysis 2 ships 3 million

The most memorable sales numbers we've heard about an EA game recently were not good (see: Shadows of the Damned's disappointing debut). EA has some much happier numbers to report (about other games) in its latest quarterly earnings report.

According to the report, Crysis 2 has "sold in" (shipped) "approximately three million units" since its March release, adding another million since last quarter.

You want some more big numbers? How about 15 million FIFA 11 shipments (including various mobile and downloadable versions), and 9 million of Battlefield Bad Company 2? The document is full of large numbers in various denominations; we'll talk about some of the others soon.

I liked Crysis 2 a lot but overall I think Deadspace 2 is much better, so much that I've kept DS2 and trade Crysis 2 a while back.

Too bad the graphics weren't the thing that ruined the game, Crysis-wise.

Gameplay is lacking, it is the gameplay. Maybe we can get a gameplay patch? lol...

Hopefully Crysis 3 is more like Crysis 1 in gameplay.

I think asking for a true sequel is less about graphics and more about awesome jungle stealth/combat with no MW influence...Also, no corridors.

Could be just me, though.

I didn't say it wasn't possible, but peoples complaints about the sequel I don't think are too heavy in the graphics dept. especially with the DX11 and high res texture packs.

personally, I found the light bloom was way too strong, though its a minor complaint, and fixable.

Both very good games with good sales. Good, good.

I just cleared Hardcore mode and got my Platinum in Dead Space 2. :D

I liked Crysis 2, even with it's derpy AI.. Dead Space 2 was just disappointing, all run & no scares

well Dead Space isn't really a horror game, in the first place. It is an action series.

strange, i was just about to post the opposite. i thought dead space 2, for all its faults, was very good and enjoyable. crysis 2, while certainly not a "bad" game, was diappointing to me.

FIFA is a big hitter in the UK. One in every 4 of my friends seems to have it.

I enjoyed Crysis 2 quite a bit. Like Splinter Cell: Conviction, I know it doesn't really fit with the other franchise entries, but it's still a great game in its own right. Are FPS's still over-saturated? Yup. Still enjoyed the game.

I wanted to see a Crysis 2 that took place right after Crysis and Crysis: Warhead. Crysis 2 is like Devil May Cry 2 to the series, in my opinion.

Everyone did, but instead we got a Crysis that was made to compete with MW... Stupid.

Interesting to see it start to catch up to crysis 1 in terms of sales, though.

That's true, apparently Joystiq has gotten very clever in their dissemination of facts. Instead of telling us certain facts, we get to read it in the URL. For those of you who are still baffled, the URL states that Dead Space 2 is hovering around 2 million in sales.

Crysis 2 DX11 patch still broken on AMD, please fix ASAP!

Anyone that thought Shadows was going to sell well was kidding themselves. Not only did the game receive very little advertisement, but it's another one of those strange japanese titles that most gamers aren't going to play.

Fantastic games.

But did it deserve to sell better than Alice and Shadows? Hell no.

More shooters, yay!

I don't think people care how much it sold. Most I hear is the game sucked. (not my own words, I never played anything but the 360 beta.)

yea the gameplay is a FLOP but the graphics look good as everyone usually points out but last time i checked gameplay , and story come first over Graphics, i think more people are becoming graphics addicts there argument is usually around how good a game looks. This games gamplay was not great and if a sequel came out i wouldnt buy it.

I got Crysis 2 at Sams Club for $23 and it's worth every penny.

The thing that I find funny about this?

Crysis 1 sold 3 million copies and it was PC only.
(Crysis Warhead sold 1.5 million PC only)

Now, Crysis 2 sells 3 million copies and it's between 3 platforms? Wouldn't you think it would sell more given the vast audience it now reaches?

I guess it really shows how much of a flop this was (especially for PC)-- which made sense in why they decided to add the DX 11 patch in to save face.
