Red Dead Redemption 'Myths and Mavericks' DLC dated for September

It's time to dust off your dusters and revolve your revolvers, as Rockstar has announced yet another DLC pack for the multiplayer component of Red Dead Redemption. The "Myths and Mavericks" pack, scheduled for this September at the low, low price of no dollars, will add a few "fan-favorite" character skins to players' rosters, as well as a few new battlegrounds to Deathmatch, Gang, Grab the Bag and "other popular online modes."

One of the beloved characters therein will be Landon Ricketts, the grizzled justice-doler who serves as an occasional mentor to protagonist John Marston. He's a decent addition, but based on the title of the DLC pack, if we don't get a playable Bret Maverick in the mix, we're going to be sorely disappointed.

Do want.. Any plans for a sequel or are they too busy with L.A. Noire?

@KGameLover1 Actually I was hoping for a big DLC for L.A Noir ...not single cases dlc's but one big as undead nightmare ...without the zombies of course

Why without the zombies? It would be awesome inspecting a dead body and then out of nowhere it comes alive and eats Roy Earle...

i was dissapointed when i realized Landon Ricketts was not part of the liars & cheats pack, im glad they are finally adding him but im affraid way to many people will use him as he is free, anyway im happy rockstar is giving away a free DLC pack as a gift to all of us loyal users

Not to sound like a total jerk, but what is the appeal of multiplayer in this game? I loved the single player campaign and undead nightmare campaign, but multiplayer just left me cold. Am I missing out on some good modes? Not trolling, really want to know, thanks!

@Radeus I agree. I haven't been able to get into the mp on this game. The single player is great. I'm glad to see that they're still supporting the mp though. Maybe we both need to put more time into the mp to get it.

@Radeus It's cool not everyone gets the mulitplayer. I still remember some jerk off in free roam running off a cliff as he chased me on his horse. Certainly memorable. Also, switch your aiming mode to casual when in multiplayer. I'm not one for cheats, but you will be on the top of any mode thereafter. It's just a different game than most when it comes to multiplayer.

the multilayer is fun & really different from all those generic FPS multiplayers, it's engaging, and if you have friends that also play it is even better

Aw damn, I seen the picture of Landon Ricketts and for a second thought they were releasing a story mode staring him.

Would of been great could of been a Unforgiven/Gran Torino style story of his one last adventure.

Oh man. Hoping for before the 20th. Once Gears 3 comes out, my entire collection of games will be gathering dust for at least a month. Free DLC is always appreciated, and that's just one of the reasons that Rockstar is awesome.

I got very excited thinking this was another story pack like undead nightmare. Having read the article I'm depressed. The MP is great and all, but I miss John Marston.

make the god damn GOTY (or complete) edition, Rockstar...

It's a shame they didnt add more single player DLC to RDR

Why? I'm perfectly satisfied with Zombie Ricketts. I found his voice acting to be top notch. His groans truly brought the character to life.

As great as Undead Nightmare was, I was incredibly disappointed that there was no online zombie free-roam. I was really hoping this loyalty DLC would be it. I guess we'll never get it...

YEah, Undead is worth the download.
I'm not done it yet... and to tell the truth it's getting quite repetitive.
But for the first few days I played it, I swore it was the EXACT feel you should get from a Zombie game. There are some creepy missions, and the feel of the zombies is right on.

la noire was so amazing.....then you cant replay it!!!!! and it over and time to trade in!!! sorry those guys tried to fool us into thinking it was like a rockstar game, but no way ! also, damn i cant wait for this dlc!!!! too bad its not more single player dlc??? id gladly pay for more at any price they threw at us!

Y'see, this is what we call a closed narrative...a story with a definitive beginning and end. Having free roam doesn't stop it being a rock star game, and they didn't "tried to fool us into thinking it was like a rockstar game", they just decided that was the way it should be, nothing wrong with that, not EVERYTHING has to be open ended.

As if there wasn't enough reason for me to continue my addiction to every facet of Red Dead Redemption.

This is one game I just cant get enough of, so the more content the happier I am!
And if you haven't already, get the soundtrack it's amazing

C'mon man, let's get some single player DLC into this game that isn't a zombie mode.

Expansion, story? Give it the old GTAIV treatment and I'd seriously blow Rockstar with cash.
