To paraphrase Wimpy... 'Capcom, I will gladly pay you Tuesday for a Mega Man Legends 3 today'.
As for the RE remakes, this does seem like "rinse wash repeat" stuff. Didn't they do this with RE2 and RE3? At least RE1 was rebuilt...
...so many cruddy decisions by Devs/Publishers these days. Maybe the videogaming industry is slow set to repeat its crash like the early 80s.

I dont want to sound preachy but it is a fact that history tends to repeat itself. The game industry is a "fairly" new industry, so a lot of cycling has not been very evident,,,yet.
Back to RE, I believe Capcom did a great job with the Gamecube remake of the first one. It showed that new life could be injected in the old titles, but they just got very, very, very lazy and greedy. That company used to be my favorite along with Konami back in the day, but lately I just cannot feel very sympathetic towards them.

No, this is a great idea. I love RE4 and Code Veronica. The fact that I won't have to plug up my damn other systems is a plus. Also, I play video games a lot. I love to play video games. It might as well be a hobby. Ill be buying the MGS HD collection. Why? Because I'm a huge fan of MGS, Mr. Foxhound. I'm also buying the SH collection. Why? Because I love Silent Hill. Why be into video games if your just going to think companies are evil? Duh they want your money! All companies want your money because your a... (wait for it...) CONSUMER!

Such a shame capcom dindn't do the same as the did wtih RE1 for the gamecube with RE2, 3 and code: Veronica X. Couldn't believe my eyes when I started the RE1 remake for the first time back then when the game came out. An complete new experience, awsome graphics.
Always hoped for more RE remakes as fan of the series...

I re-read both my own comment and the one you posted. I honestly have *no* clue where or how you surmised that "I think videogame companies are evil". In fact, I really don't know why you even went on that latter tangent in your comment about repurchasing remade games...?
Anyway... My concern was with poor decision making and actions of these developers & publishers as of late, showing signs of what caused videogaming to go under almost 30 years ago.
Yes, I agree with some of the *other* people commenting that said history does repeat itself to a degree, that certain remakes WERE for the best(especially when rebuilt from scratch like RE1 on GCN), and developers are taking a much lazier approach to game completion to make deadlines(a factor of contractual obligation and staffing)... but all of that comes at a consequence. Consumer satisfaction dips with lack of effort(or none at all, in case of MML3); and a wariness arises to purchase a slack-assed updated version of either something they already own or see no reason to spend hard-earned funds for. Especially in these "hard economic times".
No, I don't think the industry will fall on its face quite as hard as it did decades ago. But if they stay upon this ridiculous modus operandi, it'll only be a matter of time before more than half of a console's gaming library are remakes/rehashes/revisions... hence, the "rinse wash repeat".

Well, after seeing that trailer I don't really have as much desire to buy Code Veronica. I do plan to buy RE4, though. I haven't really played it at all since I was obsessed with it on the Gamecube.

I actually wish they would put out the Gamecube versions of RE0 and RE1 on the 360. I also wish that they would change the controls to that of the N64 version of RE2 so that I could actually run around properly but I doubt that will ever happen...

@Rocket Raccoon
Lol, it took you until n64 resident evil to be able to run around zombies? Dang. The controls aren't That hard to get down.

No no, I meant the controls in the N64 version are different. They have it similar to the RE4 controls in that if you go up or down or left or right your character will move in that direction in game as well instead of the left and right directions for turning and up and down for moving forwards and backwards.
It changes the game a lot to the point that you can actually run circles right around the zombies.

Re-release megaman legends one and two and i will be a happy camper. The controls still hold up pretty well and they have run and shoot, something to this day resident evil cant seem to get a grasp on.

Seriously, don't buy CV. It's terrible. Not terrible like it hasn't aged well, but terrible even 10 years ago. It a step down from RE2 & RE3. The story is absurd in a bad way, and the voice acting & dialog is annoying. I can understand it being the shit when the dreamcast came out since it was fully 3D, but there's parts where the camera positioning feels worse than the pre-rendered background games. Just avoid. Especially at $20.

Not motivated for C.V. but I'd likely buy 4 if it has Move support. That info should have been revealed by now, I suspect if they haven't talked about Move yet then it must not support it. If anyone knows more than me let me know.

I'm sure they could've easily port the Wii version to PS3, but Capcom probably have some kind of agreement with MS that both games should be equal.
Probably just like the agreements that some downloadable games was exceeding the Live quota (size), so they had to be compressed to make the cut, but the PS3 version had to be compressed as well even though the PSN don't have those limits.

Code Veronica was a terrible game, so no amount of HD makeover is going to make me want to play that over again.
It's too bad RE2 and RE3 can't get remakes like RE1. RE4 I'll stick pick up, just as long as it is as complete as the wii re-release.

I already own both of these games on multiple systems, but I'd gladly purchase them again if I could get them together on a disc for one of the next gen systems.
However, I refuse to pay a premium price for a download of an old game.

And so Marketing Research test 2 begins!!!! IMO test one was the release of Halo; Reach on both shelves and download, even though the download price outside of the US was absolutely rediculous. Test 2 is obviously gonna be a direct to download remake full 'retail' (1000gs) game. Lets face it, it will go shelves aswell in japan cause they are still trying to crack their market in any way, still price is gonna be stupid! Once the result are in they will probbily start either designing the next gen direct to download only console or just simply buy Steve Perlman's Onlive game system.
To be honest I would buy a direct to download game if it was, A worth the charged price and B if it was charged the same World wide, (value for one should be value for all!) It should be cheaper than anywhere else available shelf wise!
