I hope all the games do well, but the only one that really interested me was Doom and Destiny.

About the Mega Man 2 music, too soon.

Shame its on Xbox. Its like they don't want their games to sell.

Well considering these are made on XNA and sony is only now giving indie a bit of attention while Nintendo is standing strong with the finger their giving saying F*ck off. It might make it easier to understand why these games are on the Xbox.

More or less indie games are like indie music. Made in the underground keeping the games at their roots. They may sell a lot or none at all. They are a step the devs have and are taking.

Everyone owns a PC capable of running low-end, non-graphics intensive indie games like these.

Only Cawwadoody fans and people with little taste in video games own Xboxes.

@Alexisonfire Really, what's happening with it? It's the only indie game i've bought to date... I don't need 324008 minecraft clones.

Balance patch, widescreen support, new stages, and some minigame modes.

Before the patch, make you try out this little trick... as arvid, knock down the opponent and move them to the corner. when they stand up, mash Throw and hold towards the wall.

Volchaos would have had my vote but for some reason it isn't on the list of choices, even though it is one of the candidates on the main page. Hopefully it is an oversight and will be added soon enough to make a difference.

Some of those games actually look good. I thought these were for the PC at first. I'll be looking forward to these.

I still don't understand what all the voting is for, or when we'll get to play these games.

The voting is for two more games to added into the uprising.

Getting into the uprising means your game will likely get a lot more coverage on game sites like Joystiq here as well as probably a promotion on the dashboard (there was one for the Winter Uprising, so I imagine they may do one for this one too).

More promotion = more exposure = more people trying your game = more people buying your game = higher chance of success on the game = higher chance of more games coming from that indie developer (which are probably more polished).

It also gives fans exposure to all the games that have qualified for the promotion. I know that I now have a sneak peek at dozens of interesting games slated for release on the service within the next few months.

Also it just gives fans a way to be involved.

Thanks for the clarification. Was figuring it was something like that. So when are these games released? Does anyone know? Is it all at once or is it more like summer of arcade?

@DarkNightRJ

As for when, a different game will be released every day from August 22nd until September 2nd.

This gives the people who are voted into the uprising (which we will know who on August 16th) enough time to put last minute polish on the game as well as getting it through probably some sort of "unofficial certification" with people organizing the event, to make sure there are no giant bugs in the game.

@DarkNightRJ You can find all of the information on our FAQ page. Go to the IndieGames-SummerUprising.com site and it is all there.

Right now we are trying to steer people toward our facebook page (which you can also find from the main site) to allow for them to vote on the two titles they would like to see added to the promotion.

The developers chose the 8 that they think should represent the platform - now it's your turn to tell us which 2 titles of the remaining candidates you believe belong there.

From Speedrunner HD on are the games that I want. The T.E.C 2000 looked insane. Also if i must refer a game that has caused great time wasting and great drunk game downloand The Impossible game on the XBL you will have fun, laugh, and cry at your frustration and its only 80msp i believe.

T.E.C. 3001 and Speedrunner HD look absolutely fantastic. Doom & Destiny, like most indie simplistic JRPGs, all depends on its writing and pacing, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Without an actual remake of Megaman 2 in the style of Maverick Hunter X on the PSP this thing is not worth watching :).

I too was surprised by the quality within; at least half of these look like they could pass for XBLA games, and all look to be worth a shot at the least.
