Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception beach stunt, from sand to sculpture

The Interactive & Digital Entertainment Festival was held in Cannes in June; a retail-focused festival, publishers bring their games to sunny southern France in the hopes of attracting the attention of Europe's buyers. One way to do that: A sand sculpture!

French marketing crew Urban Act were commissioned to recreate the already iconic image of Drake in front of the crashed plane in the desert to promote Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Note how they've got the workspace roped off, just in case someone's got a Godzilla game to promote.

I take it that you never got into the MULTIPLAYER DEMO about a month ago?

@mahouneko First of all beta is not a demo.

And a single player demo can be quite a bit different from a multiplayer demo.

I have a great demo for you, go to PSN download U1 and U2, play both demo's then buy both games play them and when you are done, just imagine that Uncharted 3 will be BETTER than U1 and U2 combined.

well thats what i meant, i wasnt following Uncharted 1 until i downloaded the demo from PSN and loved it, I'm buying the game regardless of a demo all i was saying was that the game will speak for itself as naughty dog always comes up trumps on quality

Somehow, when I saw "beach" and "southern France" together, I was expected an entirely different sort of Uncharted promo. Bummer.

Guys at the end had the right idea... With that new-fangled potato stamp device and a some crazy co-ordination we could hit every populated beach in the world!

Of course I have this niggling feeling that something to do with tides may prevent this plan from working exactly as I would hope for. But this is the internet, and what good is it if it can't overcome small things like the effects of the moon?
