As an interesting set piece for the Battlefield 3 booth at Gamescom, EA had a jet brought from Berlin to Cologne. Transportation of the MiG-21 cost in the low five-figure range in Euros. Probably still cheaper than the jet fuel cost of flying it the 400 kilometers.

If you ask me they should have saved the money they spent on the jet and instead gave it to Valve to make Valve let them do whatever they hell they want with DLC so BF3 could be sold on Steam.
Don't get me wrong, I have much love for the Euro gamers, but a jet at a convention with limited attendance isn't going to get the average madden/cod meat head to buy BF3.

EA sure are going all out for Batlefield 3.

I can't wait to see the jet combat in this game. That little teaser from the trailers got me super hyped.
On a side note, I still need to find a good joystick combo for Battlefield 3. One that works very well and works for both jets and helis.

The Alpha Version that we were invited to is indeed over (as an alpha tester... i definately know that), but should be noted there are obviously different builds ranging from the games life cycle being kept at DICE.
I just made up a simple joke about them taunting us with a Jet but only showing stuff we've seen before.
Of course this isn't the truth as anybody on the BF UK Forums knows they were playtesting Jets not too long ago, it's believed to be conquest (With jets obvs) and not singleplayer just so you know; according to Zh1nt0... It's awesome.

I wonder why they brought in a Mig opposed to an f-16 or f-18? I just figured they would have brought in an American jet. Guess they are probably alot harder to get a hold of outside of air shows.

I wish this money was put toward making their servers function on day 1. I can't wait for the obligatory "please bear with us, we are experiencing heavy server traffic" message on launch day. I will be stunned if everything works on day 1.
