The game seemed very successful to me and yet I am always reading about some black cloud hanging over it. Weird backstory on LA Noire.

I have zero sympathy for Brandon McDouche and his team of Nazgul Douche Riders (who will, no doubt, get paid plenty for this fiasco). I do, however, have enormous sympathy for all those who sacrificed to make a great product and got nothing but burned out.

Best of luck to you who worked hard.

@ninjadan

Thank you for the mental image of the Nazgul wearing polo shirts with popped collars over their robes. I will cherish it always.

After I played through LA Noire I've been noticing some of the actors popping up in movies/series. Last two episodes of Curb your Enthusiasm has seen a couple of them.

a lot of the actors were already TV stars

I'm calling it now: The next LA Noire will be made by Rockstar themselves.

I doubt there will be another game like this for awhile and if so it wont be as good it's ridiculous how such a great studio got treated so poorly and then ultimately closed-down/sold-off, reminds me of the same thing capcom did with clover studio that made okami and the viewtiful Joe games.

@type2red

Right but Clover was closed because it's games were not commercially successful.

Team Bondi Is selling it's assets because it was hugely successful financially but a failure when it came to managing people

"Rumors that the former developer devoured the souls of departed employees have as yet gone unsubstantiated. News at 11."

I liked LA Noire some, but I was expecting something less linear. Oh well.

Disgusting! Genuinely disgusting!

The fact that Mr. McNamara and his cronies will be offered shelter for the crap they pulled is the epitome of "getting off scott free"!

Now all that resulted of this Team Bondi kerfuffle is mistreatment, loss of pay, jobs. Plus, that's not taking into consideration the pay cuts/demotions/layoffs we'll probably being hearing about in the coming months from former Bondi devs who made the jump to KMM only to find out their jumping ship came with some unknown side-effects.

Honestly, it's things like this that make me shake ashamed of my hobby. :(

It is a PR move and maybe a legal one, but I don't think any employee would stand up an sue them. The industry is very small in OZ. But the law is on the side burnt/mistreated employees, if they had a decent lawyer.

PR move most likely, I would imagine McNamara is rolling in slave driven cash.

I hope this serves as a lesson to other douche bag bosses and studio managers. Treat your staff like shit and karma will come back sooner or later and bankrupt your ass! It's just a shame none of the developers will get any bonus for all their hard work now.

Don't be naive. McNamara orchestrated the KMM buy-out, so he'll be laughing all the way to the bank with a 7-figure golden parachute. I give it a month before he's making another gaggle of coders fresh out of college completely miserable.

Karma doesn't exist in this industry.

I just beat this about 20 mins ago oddly enough. My hats off to Bondi, this was a fantastic experience and the story, the way everything started to piece together during the Vice cases was amazing.
