LEGO Halo is, unfortunately, still an April Fool's joke. But if Bungie or Microsoft ever do want to put it together, maybe Benny Brickster can help. He's modeled a number of different Halo vehicles, from the Covenant's Ghost all the way up to the gigantic Pelican, in the excellent and versatile LEGO medium.
The Pelican is quite a feat in itself, sitting over 26 inches long, with wings so heavy they need their own stands. The back door even opens and closes. Next up, Brickster plans to expand the Covenant forces, building a Wraith, a Phantom, and possibly even a seven-foot long full-scale Assault Carrier. We won't lie: Building something like that would make him a real master, chief.

And this is why they shouldn't have gone with Mega Bloks.

@thelolotov MegaBlocks suck ass. I have bought a few for my son and they rarely stay together and keep falling a part if you look at them wrong.

The way Lego makes licensed stuff these days, if it was official, it would be 3 specialty pieces you put together in 2 seconds.

Me and my brothers used to make farm equipment out of Legos.
This is a million times cooler.

Me and my brothers used to try to build the most indestructible cars and then smash'em into each other. You won by having the fewest pieces fall off. Good times.

The covenant vehicles are red? I know purple is hard to come by in the Lego universe, but why not blue?

Saber-Scorpion has some of the best lego creations. Star Wars KOTOR, other Star Wars Games, Mass Effect, Metal Gear Solid, and some older games too. Made the covenant vehicles the right color too! You can also buy his decals to recreate most of his creations.
Can't beleive Joystiq just found about this now, Saber-Scorpion has been along way longer and has even been featured in some magazines for his Metal Gear Solid creations (he made the Shagohad, Metal Gear Ray)

Not the same thing at all. Megabloks uses far poorer quality plastic and molds, which results in virtually all their sets having several miscast bricks and poor fitting bricks.
With the Halo kits i've bought the things fall apart as soon as anyone breathes on them, the only way i got them to stay together long enough to actually put in my display case was to superglue the parts together. Kinda defeats the purpose of a construction block toy really.

Bought my daughter one of the MegaBlok Yo Gabba Gabba sets and while the characters are great the blocks are the worst.
Just so depressing to watch her TRY to get the blocks to stay together. I tried to ferret out the bad ones but half were bad on the studs, the other half at the base so she ended up with next to nothing left.
Bought a replacement set of Lego and tossed the Megablocks in the trash where they can't hurt anyone.

Actually, I bought my nephew quite a few of the Halo Mega Bloks sets, and they're not absolute shit quality like they used to be. Now if you want to see horrible quality, buy Hasbro's new Kre-o sets. They're god-awful.

Aw man, when I was a kid my neighbors and I used Legos to make a pool table sized hangar and a bunch of vehicles inspired by Star Fox and Star Wars. Man, Legos are the greatest invention ever.

It's reasons like this (and maybe some motivation that has come from lots of time in Minecraft) that I've picked up a set of lego blocks to just create stuff. I have forgotten how cool it is to make stuff with LEGOS and brings back memories of childhood. I have also forgotten how painful it could get on your fingers when you try to break apart structures for too long :(

Actually I like the Halo Mega Bloks. The spartans look way better then they would in LEGO form. All the little LEGO figures have the same boring bodies, just painted different colors with a custom head to slide on the shoulders. (Yes, I'm looking at you Mr. LEGO Jack Sparrow)

Actually, LEGO now has a new service that will allow anyone to submit their LEGO creations for the web to vote on, if enough people vote to say that "I would like to buy this at $XX…", then it has a chance to get made into an official LEGO product!! The name of the company is CUUSOO, it's a Japanese company that started doing crowdsourced product design back in 1998!!!
You can check it out at http://LEGO.cuusoo.com

What's with all the hate on Mega Bloks?
The series 2+ sets are awesome. If you have sets that are pieces of shit, they're probably the series 1 sets, which were the sets that came out before 343 became a really big factor in Halo, and it's products. The sets that I have are just as durable as LEGO, if not more. The downside is that the figures can, at times, become loose in-the-box more often than LEGO.
