PSN scheduled maintenance today in US too

The PlayStation Network will be down approximately 11 hours for maintenance today. Beginning at 11AM Eastern (8AM Pacific) and going until 10PM Eastern (7PM Pacific), users won't have access to account management and registration, though "the majority" should be able to play games online.

The maintenance is also scheduled today for European servers.

I dont see why it's taking this long for NA and Europe when Japan has had the ability for a while now.

Hoping for an announcement @ Gamescon.

@MLC when did they allow japan to change there ID never saw anything about this?

I have a Japanese PSN account, the ability to change your publicly displayed name does exist.

the PSN is not down, only acct management and registration.

Not it IS/WAS down, just not the user-side of service. This likely affected development for a full work day and Sony didn't warn anyone in North America of it. Highly unprofessional.

I'm about 1 more hour+ PSN update from chucking my system out the window.

Got home last night and wanted to play some games, but had to wait over an hour for their stupid ass huge file updates over their bullshit slow connection speeds.

Updating your firmware takes over an hour? Mine takes about 4 minutes on a regular cable internet connection. I'm not sure the issue with with Sony's servers if it's taking you that long...

I know Sony is based in Japan, but its a very small market. Why not make PSN go down overnight in the US (probably their biggest PSN user base) and have the guys work over night? Its just another way to show US users that Japan comes first.

Yeah, awesome timing for a scheduled maintenance....
