Looking to bolster your games collection on your Windows Phone on the cheap? Today, Microsoft has announced that ad-supported versions of Minesweeper and Sudoku are available to download, free of charge, right now on your Windows Phone 7 device. There's only one stipulation: you've gotta be a US resident.
Both titles feature Achievements and multiple modes of play -- in Sudoku, you've got Classic or Lightning mode, while Minesweeper boasts Classic and Speed modes. You can download each by following the links below.
[Thanks, Curtis]

I've been using the Mango betas since they came out and I don't see how I ever lived with NoDo (WP7.1). The beta feels like a complete OS, but I really want some new hardware. I have the Focus now, but I wouldn't mind something thinner with a bigger screen and more storage. Hope these Mango phones have dual core cpus and more RAM because there are a couple apps that are really slow :(

MS really needs to stop doing US only promotions for things like this which have no practical reason to be US only.

This is a ridiculously stupid question, but is there anyone out there who is Canadian and owns a Zune HD?

I have almost bought one. They look amazing. I just can't justify owning one in addition to my MP3 player AND my WP7.

@King Johngie the Fourth If the Zune HD ran the Windows Phone 7 operating system like the iPod touch runs iOS, I would definitely be interested in having a Zune HD around.

Hah, well how about this: They took away the ability to customize your Zune HD (you used to be able to put a graphic on the outside) so that pretty much made up my mind not to buy one.

I haven't. My brother has. The apps seem to work just fine. You can't use Zune Pass though. You either need to rip from CD's, or acquire music elsewhere.
Basically the device works just fine in Canada, so long as you're not depending on Zune Pass for music.

Ya, I have a Zune HD, it's just that the apps won't download. I get a bs error message, and a link to an empty FAQ. Microsoft hasn't helped me out much with the issue, so I was just curious whether anyone else was having the same problem. Thanks.

Weird. I couldn't tell you what to do :/. There's always restting the device to factory settings, or re-installing Zune for the PC.

While I can understand why they are US only (they would need to sell advertising in other countries first) I really wish I could try these two out. Canada is just north of you guys! Quit forgetting about us! :(

I love my iPhone 4 like crazy, but if I had to switch to a completely different phone it would have to be a WP7 phone. Every app for this thing looks beautiful...
