Good news!
They didn't touch the cinematics in the first GoW collection and it showed.

@ChaosBladez Agreed. That was the only thing that held the collection back. The games looked great otherwise.

@ChaosBladez

"They" didn't have anything to do with the first collection.

So they turned Anit-Aliasing on. Great!

Still looking forward to finally playing the PSP games on my PS3.

@Surkov

No, they remodeled and retextured most of the assets in the game. Big difference.

@(Unverified) In the video, all of the characters visible have the exact same polygon counts.

Yeah, the new snazzy one does look nice, but it lacks that "Holy crap, how is this possible on a handheld?" bewilderment. Still, it's great either way.

Looks clean and crisp. Love it. Definitely going to get it when I have the chance, I missed ghost of Sparta, because I don't own a psp.

I know, I meant "they" as the general term for the developers. No need for nitpicking ;)

The time wasted on 3D could have been used for important things I would assume. Could be worse. They could be wasting it on Move support. Hopefully the final product doesn't have any issues because of it. The God of War franchise deserves the absolute best.

3D is reduced to a one line, end of article blurb. Poor 3D, you are not loved.

I wonder if they'll make a PSV port?

And enough with the 3D bashing on every game that has 3D support. Some of us have 3DTVs and projectors and appreciate the extra effort from devs to add 3D support because 3D gaming is awesome.

I'd say I have to get this but the fact is I haven't picked up GoW3 yet... still not willing to pay $30 for a game I'll only play through once. I bought GoW1 for $20 and GoW2 for $10. Unfortunately they looked like shit on my HDTV despite upscaling. Unless you're on an SDTV, backwards compatibility is a joke and not a loss for PS3 owners in my minority, controversial opinion.

PSP version looks sharper and less like an N64 game. They seem to have replaced some textures with noticeably low poly models. Not sure that's a good idea.

I understand what you're trying to say, but your nostalgia is failing you. Go back and play any N64 game on the actual console. There is no anti-aliasing on the models. They're all jagged and look like crap.

I love the GoW series but apparently not enough to purchase a PSP to play these - I'm pretty stoked that I get to play them now. I'm kinda jonesing for more Kratos, even if he is a miserable prick.

Also to really appreciate the visual upgrade you need to view the video in full screen with HD turned on, otherwise it's hard to see the comparison.
