I really hope that it shows or at least explains how the shit hit the fan on this island it's the one thing that kept me from really enjoying the L4D titles as well as Dead Nation soundtrack is awesome.

Whoa, whoa, whoa; didn't you know ALL zombie apocalypses are caused by electrical-grid managers not having a Toshiba® impact-smart hard drive? Yeesh, where have you been?

@DirkHammerHulk I think its "zombie apocalypse" tradition to keep the origins ambiguous or unclear. At best you get hints or clues as to how it happened, but the story is usually never really fully explained to you. The Walking Dead comic is a lot like that, and in the Romero movies.

@bamb0ostick

I liked the way it was done in 28 Days Later. They showed the exact origin, but it didn't make the movie any less freaky.

Agreed. Trying to explain a zombie phenomenon will only leave more questions and make it seem even stupider.

I don't get gamers that feel they need to have a good story or they can't play a game. Books and movies have good stories. You don't even have to press buttons to experience them.

@DirkHammerHulk

how many ways can a zombie apocalypse start? LOL

i think they have all been covered... unless it means that much to you. Plus the best stories don't tell you and leave it up to the person to figure out with clues throughout the plot. The Road and to a much less extent Braid are examples of this.

@DirkHammerHulk It all started after they played non stop Justin Beiber tunes over the island intercom then had a all night twilight showing it all went downhill from there.

This game has been on my radar since the day it was announced. After seeing that it's free roam and co-op, it's a definite buy as long as it doesn't get consistent 5/10's or lower.

The guitar playing in the Main Theme is a little, TINY tiny tiny tiny tiny bit WAY too similar to the theme from 28 weeks later.

I dunno if it's the instrument or what, maybe the way it's played, or something, but that's a very distinct sound to set to long, drawn out, quiet notes and it feels sort of rip-offy to me.

@FuzzyPierce

Nothing wrong with being inspired by other sources. It happens all the time. Batman: Arkham Asylum's soundtrack at times hits some notes eerily similar to the Hans Zimmer/ James Newton Howard soundtrack for the movies.

Does anyone know the name of the instrumental that plays in the middle of the E3 trailer? I've been driving myself crazy looking for it.
