I want to be hip and cool!

Seriously, it seems fantastic. Maybe next year.

@sortius Oh, bullshit. Just because something isn't straightforward or you don't instantly get it doesn't mean that it's instantly "hipster" or "pretentious".

These aren't gamers, these are hipsters! Real gamers wouldn't waste precious hours waiting in a line to go see static pictures of video game characters that they could be playing as at home. Sure I can appreciate it, I'll appreciate it as a joystiq gallery that'll take me two minutes to click through on my couch. Or am I just being an asshole?

@Dudimus24 Okay, once more: HIPSTERS WOULDN'T PUT THIS MUCH EFFORT INTO ANYTHING. "Real gamers" can also be appreciators of art and culture, a lot of this is awesome and has had real effort put forth out of love for games. You aren't an asshole, you just seem unable to appreciate anything beyond your couch, which leads me to believe that you're probably under the age of 22-23.

@Dudimus24

you can also see the mona lisa on google, it doesn't have the same effect. Joystiq is cool and all but you cant see each individual pen stroke or the streaks across the canvas caused by the brush. In short viewing art on the internet is the equivalent of cliff notes to books. And if you think that is a hipster statement i think you should learn the difference between art appreciation and hipster, and while we're at it can we please stop throwing around the term hipster? There were people in regular t shirts, not plad over shirts, here. I dont know whose worse the hipsters or the "gamers" who lump everyone in a 10 mile radius to a hipster as a hipster.

in this case i agree. just because i don't think the 'brush strokes' for this are the most important part. also, i think it becomes more contextualized on screen anyway.

I seriously want prints of some of these, I wish I knew the artists' names, or that they were published on iam8bit's website or something.
