Huh, that's pretty cool.

I'll try it out, why not. Can always turn it off if I don't like it.

How was the 3d in the game of the year edition?

@MosDeffa The 3D in the game of the year version actually works and looks good. I have a regular LCD HDTV and was surprised on how effective the 3D effect was. It works better at giving you a sense of depth than at things flying out at you.

@Migz7 I agree. Its not necessary but it added a cool option and worked way better than I ever expected. I really wish shooters or racing games would use it. I always have a hard time telling distance in shooters and some times mess up turns because I can't tell which way the turn is or even if there is a turn.

@omgwtf Yeah, I turned it off pretty quickly. I was just trying it out on a friend's copy since I didn't have the GotY edition, but personally, I wasn't too impressed. Messed with the colors and wasn't THAT 3D.

Yeah i was referring to the "playable in stereoscopic 3D on compatible televisions, using active-shutter glasses" as opposed to the "regular old anaglyph 3D when played on an HDTV" part of the article.

Would it be correct to assume that the sterioscopic 3D is the new stuff that you have to have a 3DTV for and is superior to the anaglyph 3D that is like the old type with the colored glasses?Pardon my ignorance if im wrong but i was assuming that to have the best 3D you had to have the new TVs,although i admit i havent done my research so they may be the same experience.

Also i still feel the push toward 3DTVs especially from Sony,being someone that only owns a PS3 as a current gen system i hear alot about the TVs.

Great news! Yes, I am getting the Playstation 3d Display. It is a perfect size for where I am going to play. I was hoping this game would be 3d compatible. I did a lot of research and active shutter glasses are the way to go, so you dont lose any HD visuals. My only gripe is that I have to wait to play, until the 3d Display is released. It will be worth the wait, though. Oh YEAH!

@verymetal

You would be one of the suckers that will buy the "Playstation 3D TV." Why not just go ahead and get you a good, decent sized one now. You can get a 42"-50" 3D TV for less than $1,000 if you look.

I got my 50 inch for 699$ last boxing day. 3D Killzone 3 with the sharpshooter was one of my most memorable gaming experiences ever

I'm happy to hear this...my xbox is severely lagging in 3D content, PS3 seems to embrace it and is taking off with it... it's bad to not have options or feature your competitor doesn't. It only takes 2% of development resources so it should be a no brainer

I only wish forza 4 would do the same

Nice ,

don't have a 3d tv yet but hopefully after xmas that should change :-)

Anyways i enjoyed the 3d on the game of the year edition, it wasn't popping out the screen but it was still very enjoyable.

so i hope this game will again include the glasses in the box because mines got destroyed and trioviz don't answer emails to get a replacement.

Also they now sell them online and want about £26 for a pair of they're plastic ones which i have no intention of buying such as shame case i was enjoying it.

Cat nips in 3-D LOL PURRRFECT ;-)

Or the option most people will use: Not bothering at all because 3D tech is about 15 to 20 years away from working properly and only lessens the experience.

I have a question. I'm new to the 3D scene and I picked up a Vizio Theater 3D which uses passive glasses like RealD in the theaters and not Active Shutter. This hasn't been a problem with any of the 3D Blu Rays that I've purchases. Can anyone confirm if this will still play on my TV or do I have to have Active Shutter to see it in 3D?

@neolego

yeah i have that same 3D tv as well. It was a great deal. I agree that the wording is pretty confusing in this but I think it sould still work with our passive 3D glasses. I've used the TV to run Mortal Kombat, Black Ops, WipeOut, and the Uncharted 3 beta in 3D and they all looked great!

Damn. I was gonna get this one on 360 since the first one I played on PS3 (for the Joker content).
But 3D support has me thinking I may need to change my preorder to PS3. No fanboy wars here, but I can only imagine that 3D will work better on the PS3 than the 360...?
I played Crysis on 360, and the 3D was kinda fun. The loss in resolution wasn't that noticeable, so I don't know?
Hmm... Decisions, decisions...

Sorry, I'm not a fan of 3D. IMO the need for 3D TV is all marketing. The industry has to push something new onto people. I don't think 3D adds anything in movies or gaming, other than a headache.

I'll stick with 2D thanks. 3D makes my eyes hurt unless the game was built with it in mind. This close to release, I feel like this is an add-on and won't be as polished as Resistance 3 or its ilk.

It'd be nice if they included the glasses with the game. Enslaved supports 3D but I don't have glasses for it. The link on the Enslaved official website for where to get glasses goes nowhere, last time I checked at least.
